Earlier on, I stated “if campbell stays fit I reckon we’ll do ok”, I’m not so sure now. A few of you have alluded to ryan taylor as our first chice right back, but really the problem will be that whilst Campbell over 10-20 yards is still relatively quick, all I’d do is stick a fast forward up against him and the twat from argentina and I reckon you’d get goals aplenty against us. Maybe we could convert one of our faster reserves into a centre back? Maybe we could play the world cups formation of 4-2-3-1 and playing on the counter. I think we have just enough quality to survive this league, but with our infamous abililty to break players that are injury prone and relatively paper thin squad, it will be tough.

Have to admit that the piece on Senna was pretty damn good. Some of that footage of his qualifying laps and racecraft show that he was an absolute master of his craft. Clarksons point about him being consistently brilliant rings true. It also shows that the level of talent he had in the wet and qualifying was frightening. Also the race in f3 when he took brundle out…. Jeezus I’d have given up motor sport after that. For a pair of yanks diaz and cruise were quite quick.

Of the Marseille side that I saw last season, Ben arfa and niang are great players. Would be amazing if we got him considering our status, compared to Marseille. They are a league champion in a good ( but not close to premier league standard). From what I’ve seen he’s got a tonne of talent, and can actually deliver the ball (jonas take note) as well as score goals. Has a stroppy attitude however, and prone to throwing his toys out of the pram.

if its a season long loan, then good. looks to be capable of playing and not just turning up in a premier league side (unlike a few of our lads).

As a wide player he’s patently not quick enough, nor does he have good enough technique. I foresee him becoming a low rent lampard, i.e. shooting from range and box to box. He also doesn’t have great defensive ability. So a slow, not great technically, wayward shooting attacking midfielder. Worth about £9m as he’s English and 4.5 if he’s foreign. all of this despite him having a good season for villa last season.

If Shearer was 'singling him out' he'd never have been on the pitch at Anfield. It's believed that the last thing Shearer said to him before he played that day was something along the lines of "don't do anything stupid" - most likely in response to the bad press Barton had been getting from the local Liverpool rags in the run up to the game. well you already have my view. too slow, too old. his best years were 94 -2002, with a few cameo's since. he does know where the back of the net is though.

at least 5 years past his best. never had any pace, can finish still ( though last season it was all about ronaldo). would want what 100k a week wages... not worth it.... the problem with raul was that he was too slow to play with the other forwards at madrid, and every time he had the ball he kept hold of it. and then wasted it. just what you need for a team that'll struggle....

unless he improved drastically from the time we were in the Premiership i see him as an 8 goals a season player at this level. he looks like he has, but to what degree, i'm unsure.

Wasn't he officially found to be the second fastest player at Arsenal last season? that article was a farce, it wasn't 2nd fastest at Arsenal it was 2nd fastest in the whole fucking league No Swp, Lennon, Agbonlahor, Vela, Sagna, Evra in short theres a ton of blatantly obvious people missing, and considering Bolt's top speed is 24mph there is no fucking way campbell is anywhere near it. it's probably something stupid like top speed achieved over any distance rather than being able to maintain a decent speed over one. i'm still doing friendlies. Despite being our sides best left back, I’m getting pretty tired of playing that position. The guy who now plays defensive midfield for us is proper mustard so I can really only play 1 position. Still I get to take all the corners (when I’m on the pitch). Scored direct from one last week against a team that finished just behind us in the league last year. Nice!bounced in off theback post.... !
