He looks very heavy legged, maybe that was the situation we have been in. But he's not as full of energy as he was before that shoulder injury. Price you pay for a shitty little squad too (across the board that is) - see Beye, Enrique, lack of cover at CB, etc. Still also love how a lot of the high earners they are trying to get rid of were signed when Ashley was owner. thats true. factually we had 1 specialist left bac, and 1 specialist right back all season. we should have kept faye. him and bassong would have made a good partnership. but you are right 2j, the biggest issue was we got in players that had serius medical complaints, smith and barton for example... and paid the useless cunts top dollar... we shouldn't have even gone in for them and gone for players with good injury records....

Alan Shearer to discuss four-year deal at Newcastle
tinofbeans replied to Scottish Mag's topic in Newcastle Forum
john carver, saviour of newcastle... fucking jesus wept. (please note "jackies the lad" this isn't a dig at you) I thought shearer was going to involve rob lee, and bob dowie as well. -
I voted Barca. should be a good game tonight, in all honesty i hope barca win. i doubt they will.

the statement has been put together to appease fans that do not want him here in the first place. except we did(as he was seen as a saviour (on a purely financial basis)), and fat sam spalashed a load of cash on some average talent. we then played awful football for half a season, keegan came in ad we played prettyish stuff and went on a huge losing streak, then turned the corner. we then brought in the 2 argentina internationals and reduced their confidence in a matter of weeks. jfk took over and barked his way to a heart attack. shearer took over and we sunk without trace thanks to the bullying nature of jfk and cluelessness of hughton. what i want to know was, what input did ashley have, it seems he allowed people to lurch from crisis to crisis. if you are running a club you need to support and nurture your relationship with the fans the media and the manager, coaching staff and the players. he's done none of that and also has not supported a club financially in the transfer market. if you look at the way he runs his sports direct company, he gets through a ton of middle managers if they don't hit their (artificcially high) targets. he's a savage bastard basically and in his own eyes has never been at fault. we really aren't going to be able to go forward with him at the helm i beleive, unless alan shearer, ian dowie are listened to, and my beleif is that they (the owner and lambrusco) will fob them off. time will tell.

nice measured approach from the sevilla board. buy in shit for next to no money. gives them a bit of cover...

Alan Shearer to discuss four-year deal at Newcastle
tinofbeans replied to Scottish Mag's topic in Newcastle Forum
quadruple his wages man..... that'll keep him here! -
how depressing. how many scouts do we have?
-
Because of his fragility and lack of outright speed, his only position is in the hole as he did for us second half of last season (with a bit of success as well if you all remember). he still times his runs well, but just can't get past the quick centrebacks any more. wherever he goes he'll want the number 10 shirt as well. so it won't be man city! Frankly though i am struggling to see where he'd play, he'd break the promoted teams wage structures so thats them out, he's too expensive for spurs and everton and blackburn, wigan as well. villa could afford him but he's not going to get into that team (set up as they are for counter attacking football). maybe abroad?

He is fucking clueless. His credibility went when he got rid of sbr

Alan Shearer to discuss four-year deal at Newcastle
tinofbeans replied to Scottish Mag's topic in Newcastle Forum
well lets see owen 115k duff martins and viduka 60k smith 60k barton 60k they are the only ones i know. none to be fair are worth more than a 1/3 of their wages if its performance related. -
fair play to him, he's not the player he was, and he hasn't hidden at all despite a lack of confidence, but will be an assett in the championship. needs to take a pay cut though.

Shearer should step down as Newcastle manager
tinofbeans replied to Jimbo's topic in Newcastle Forum
hmmmn. there may be something in that. the team would get a good pre season at least... -
tragically true.
-
Exactly, the general consensus was that we had a side devoid of pace and creativity (with the exception of the zog and milner (and i use milner as an example of a player that has done well since he left)). when the transfer window closes we end up with lovenkrands (who can run fast but often without the ball) and nolan (footballing equivalent of having an engine from a shopmibility cart). the board makes money to cover the outlay on a variety of other failed purchases. Then we get relegated. Planning.....

I know this is ridiculous, but is the Premiership actually any fun?
tinofbeans replied to Asprilla's topic in Newcastle Forum
shelling out money for most away games knowing you've been watching the worst footballing side in the league. watching as a fat odious twat sinks your club into medicrity. the premiership is the pinnacle ( along with the primera liga) of european football. currently we don't deserve to be there. hopefully that will change. -
ameobi is not up to it. too lazy. too shit. gets paid far too much, is thick as mince and is a cunt.
-
we have freddy shepherd and mike ashley to blame. your man who's a blackburn fan told the truth.... since robsons departure and that thick twat souness came in we have been pretty much thrown to the dogs. why get rid of your best players because they are moody (bellamy), why sell off a decent defender for less than his real value(hughes). roeder with shearers help didn't do badly at all in his first season here, but after that is been disaster after disaster.... now this. lets hope the clueless fat oaf sells up to people who want to get us up into the top flight, and keep us there....
-
beat me to it. He can rot in Gatesheads reserves for all I care. I'd put him in America to be honest, fucker's only after money anyway. He was after beating Bobby Charlton's record of goals for England, but Capello has pretty much thrown that chance out of the window. wouldn't work in capello's system.
-
Nope, but with a couple of different decisions and a piffling bit of investment (compared to what relegation is going to cost) we could have quite realistically finished 8th-ish this season. But instead we've (or they have) unerringly picked the path to this...... losing most of our current squad and rebuilding in the Championship is going to take serious drive, vision and a management structure that generally makes the right decisions. That's broadly what we had last time, it really isn't at the moment (even if Shearer stays, never mind if he's off). Hopefully next season won't be like that, but they had at least 3 chances to learn those lesson this season, and they failed each and every time. absolute bollocks. the club needs a total restructure..... playing staff are not good enough.... and i think we'll be surprised by our lack of quality in the championship.

if given the service would still be a 10 or 11 goal a season striker.

What is the most ridiculous hatred you harbour?
tinofbeans replied to Park Life's topic in General Chat
newcastle uniteds 1st team. the people of penge. aardvarks. scousers. -
its a bad day, but we can and will rebuild. hopefully with a non corrupt board of directors(who only have the clubs interests at heart) and a coaching and playing staff that can get us out of the championship at the 1st attempt.
-
yep. sums it up for me!
