  1. Aye Emre wide instead of N'Zog was a poor choice but other than that he cannot win can he. I guarantee if he dropped Rozenhal and Martins for Faye and Smith and we lost you would be moaning about why the fuck we changed a winning defence and attacking partnership to bring in new faces. And btw I totally understand why Rozenhal wasn't brought straight back in and this is other than the fact him Faye and Cacapa were class on Monday night but look at why Rozenhal lost his place. He looked poor (and I am not slagging him off as he has looked decent in most of his games) in a couple of matches where he looked suspect in terms of heading and the physical aspect of his game. With players like Kitson, Hunt etc for me I can see why he still wanted the physical prescence of Faye once again. Anyhoo as I sad it doesn't matter as I am sure you would moan regardless even if we had won. Not really, I think that maybe it's because I'm from the school that thinks you shouldn't change a winning team or don't fix it if it isn't broke. I would have started the team that started on Monday with the possible exception of Smith who was on suspension. Inccidently, I thought Cacapa & Feye were crap and the back four in general were shabby. There was a definite change in tempo when Zoggy came on. So then what's your point? Are you stockpiled in a lumber yard Patrokles? My point is that I think Sam got his starting line-up wrong, and if you add that to the back-four being sieve-like and leaking two goals plus the front two being scoreless then the result is ZERO points. But your two posts contradicted each other. And then you did it again. You criticise Sam for not changing the back four from Spurs, then say you wouldn't change a winning side. Senile? Mr.Patrokles, you didn't answer my question about being stockpiled in a lumber yard. Perhaps the way I write things have a tendency to confuse certain people. Let me shed some light on the question to you, my reference to the lumber yard was pointing towards inventory of short planks.

  5. Truth of the matter is; ......if Newcastle played Man.Utd in the Los Angeles coloseum there'd probably be about 50,000 spectators made up of; 5% American(mostly coaches & youth teams and those caught in the Beckham frenzy) 15% European, Asian, African, Oriental(who want to see good football with an international mix of players. 25% British(and some Irish) 40% Hispanic(mostly Mexicans who've seen the movie "Goal" and it's their national sport, South Americans who've heard of Man.Utd. and it's their national sport too)
  6. .....pencil and go back to the drawing board and figure out what is wrong with your calculations. Dropping Rozey in favour of Feye may have looked a good result against Spurs but didn't add up in Reading. Putting Emre wide left in place of Zoggy didn't work out correctly. Starting Martins and Owen again when Smith was in the equation was perhaps a sizable error. You need to make 1g+4d+4m+2f = 3pts.
  7. agreed Lot of truth in that, might of looked good on paper to Sam but from the first minute it looked like shite on the field.
  8. Ya berra gerroba dat before I slappa ya face
  9. Oba there, oba there, An' it won't be oba Til it's oba oba there.
  10. Could someone define this 'by mutual consent' for me please. Does it mean someone says 'Your fired" and the other one says "I quit"?

    *HOOF*

Yes we did, but ultimately it was because we were winning games as well as being 'Entertainers', I don't think we would have been too happy if the 'Entertainers' were losing too many games games. It's all about winning and gaining points, there has never been any joy in losing, even if they play brilliantly. I remember that under Ossie Ardilles' guidence we were playing some good football but losing too many games, not a happy situation.
  12. Credit to Martins for scoring a goal and his work-rate but he has to do something about his control, he bobbled nearly every ball that came to him. And I don't think he's that fast, I didn't see him out-pacing defenders when chasing for the ball.
  13. We'd be in fourth place right now after 9 games Rico if we hadn't hoyed 3 points doon the netty against lowly Derby
  14. Yer not alone in thinking that. I was expecting a far better game from both teams and at best the Lads put in a lot of effort, scored goals, and got the win we dearly wanted but didn't look anywhere near a team that could compete with the top four.
  15. Me mam told me tarts don't wear knickers, she said the on and off was a bother and wasted valuable time.
  16. With them both in their prime I would take Pedro for the long haul for his hard work and consistancy in performence, but for the short haul I would take Gazza for the flair and playmaking he brought to the game, something we are sadly lacking today.
  17. What d'ye want Meenzer? Honestly man, all I ask is that you at least live on the same continent as the scene of your crucifixion. Bloody armchair messiahs. Verily I saith unto you Meenzer, it came to pass that aa had te gan wheor me dad sent me or he'd a skelped me arse.
  18. OK, so he was born in Glasgow but he came to live in Newcastle when he was 9 years old. His mother was from Newcastle and he spent a bit more than 28 minutes in Gosforth so he's a bit more of a Geordie than Tony Blair
  19. I know I live in one of the lost colony's and don't get to visit St.James' too often but the song "Home Newcastle" and the lines in it always make me feel warm inside and proud to be a Geordie. It may not be a rousing tune but it has a nice lilt to it and with words like; I'm coming home Newcastle, wished I'd never been away, I'd kiss the ground for the welcome sound of me mother saying "hinny haway" If you never win the Cup again, I'd brave the dark at St.James' Park at the Gallowgate end in the rain, How can this song not be considered as an overture to a match?
  20. As far as I can tell we get the same commentators as you do for the live premier league games on Setanta USA and Fox Soccer Channel, but at half-time we may get people who are a joke. Champions league games shown on ESPN we get more jokers like Smith and Hudson.
  21. Forgive me for this but.....................the weather on Tyneside is like a Muslim........either Sunni or Shiite
