1. Looks like JT is about to kick GN in the bollocks tbh. Albeit in a girlie way.
2. It's like that in wallsend. I would still sign him. He's good so what does his age really matter. He must be fit enough and he is not going to be here more than 3 years (my opinion based on the majority of foreign imports) 177597 I guess when it really matters is if you want to sell him in 3 years time, and he's either in his mid-twenties or going into his early 30s. It would massively affect the sell-on value. 177600 I say we panic and buy him. Quickly. *Panics*
3. Is it just me or do Given and Harper look alarmingly similar? I think Harper is trying to pass himself off as Given in order to get a run in the first team.
4. I voted other. I hope Roeder knows his necromancy, as we will probably need Wor Jackie Milburn to get us out of this mess.
5. Best form of defence is a strong attack. FACT. There is no actual evidence for it, but it is a FACT.
6. Our 175934 Wor 175936 huh 175989 The 175995 A
7. Agree with your comment about Solano tbh. Milner has looked good in pre-season; I'm not his biggest fan, but I'd like to see him given a chance there. 175026 Milner should have been on at half time tonight. As much as I like Solano, I think his legs are starting to go and Milner should be given a full game in the second leg.
8. I didn't thinkt he defence did THAT badly tonight, nothing worse then their usual antics anyway. Glad to see Carr and Babayaro push up a bit. I thought the worst player tonight was Solano by a mile. He did sod all.
9. "If you pay them, they will come" Seriously though, when are we going to buy a striker? We have known for a year that shearer would be retiring, we should have had someone in mind right from the start of the transfer window and it should have been done. Quickly. Premiership starts in 9 days. Tonights display shows we need at least one more quality striker and we need him quickly. It will be too late by the end of the transfer window, as the season will have already started and they will need some time to gel into the squad. I'm getting nervous tbh.
10. Anyone will do as long as they can score a goal that is not a bloody header!!!
11. Doesn't seem too outlandish. Would be happy to see both players here. My only worry is that the Cole deal wont happen so Bridge may decide to stay at Chelsea. Also wish there were 2 strikers on that list as well.
12. Personally I think we should stick to a 4-4-2 in future. The amount of time quality balls were being played into the area and there was not a man around to get on the end of it. Ameobi was always just in front of them or behind them. We missed the 2nd forward following him up. For certain spells of the game today it looked like we were playing a 4-6 formation tbh.
13. CBA posting my team again. Rest assured there was a strong "Bury" theme.
14. In Butt's post-match interview with John Barnes, I couldn't help thinking that he sounded like Andy Pipkin from Little Britain. "I wanna go home" etc
15. I take it all back. Having watched tonights display, we need defenders and strikers equally urgently.
16. I have to confess I have only seen him play at the World Cup and he didn't exactly sparkle. I think for 10 million he would be a bit of a gamble.
17. I agree with you. We shouldn't go out and get expensive panic buys. I'm just thinking from a practical point of view. The quicker we get players into the squad, the sooner they will get to know the other players games etc. and will be better gelled when the season starts. I just don't want the same situation as last year when we got quite a few players a few days before deadline day so it was a couple of weeks before they go themselves into the squad properly. By then we had alredy played 4 games and not won a single one, and (cliche stand-by) they all count.
