He got 'accidentally' run over by Souness' daughter.... 87293

Speaking of Oliver, his articles seem to have dried up completely, Lee Ryder writes most of them now.

Apart from me. Having said that, I was happy with Faye. 50% aint that bad I suppose. 87151 No, you were probably 100% right about Butt, but 200% wrong about Faye, so mathematically you should never comment about a player's ability again (and I didn't even include Luque). 87186 How about Baros and Koller? 87252 Though, I still think that I am basically right about Baros scoring ability. I wonder if O-Nut wants my opinion regarding who is going to win the golden boot at this year's World Cup... 87271 It won't be a German player, that's for sure!

Oh well, at least he will be fit for the World Cup...

We were blatantly missing Amdy Faye today. It's not right than we should be without one of our key players because of his national team. No team in the league would play good football if they were missing 46 first-team players. Emre and Parker were still injured but I forced them into starting the game anyway - Lady Luck had other ideas and we had to take them off again before half-time. Fortunately young Kieron will be be back soon, he is still unable to walk without crutches at the moment let alone sprint, but he has a 50-50 chance of playing at the weekend, proper player. I think I'm getting the maximum out of the players I currently have, unfortunately that doesn't include stringing two passes together.
-
It still saddens me to think that if Robson had been given £50m in July 2003, we'd possibly still be a Top 4 team now. We were just a defensive midfielder and one or two defenders away from being a top team. What we needed at the time was 3-4 new faces. That's where Shepherd keeps going wrong - he backs the wrong managers at the wrong time.
-
I know it's meant to be funny, but it's true! Why don't they just shut up instead of building everyone's hopes up again. This must be the 241th time that Dyer is supposed to have a "chance of playing at the weekend".
-
Are they seriously suggesting we should have bought DJ Campbell because he scored twice against the Mackems? They're obsessed.
-
Always gives a 100% on the pitch, works hard and never shirks a tackle, so he must be all right
-
In all seriousness, I think we'll be fed a relatively new one when someone inevitably points out to him that with the exception of Owen and Dyer (and maybe Taylor), his squad is back to full strength - "my players need a proper run of games together before you can judge me". Alternatively, he will blame his neighbour's cat for keeping him awake all night, with the ensuing sleep deficit preventing him from making a proper motivational speech to his players.
-
The thing is, on paper we have a good run of games coming up - Pompey (h), Villa (a), Charlton, Everton and Bolton (all home games) - with a decent manager, we would easily be capable of getting 13-15 points, which should see us back in the Top 8. Man City aren't exactly invincible either, they've lost four times at home this season (which is more than us I think). The fact that we have one of the most incompetent managers in football and will be lucky to avoid five straight defeats makes the whole situation even more depressing.

DJ Campbell has just signed for Birmingham

86796 I've always wondered how physio room get their info. Are they linked to the BBC or something? 86798 I've read that they get their info directly from the clubs. Don't know if it's true though.

That would at least give Souness another excuse...
-
I thought it was about Souness and his "coaching".
-
Closet Chelsea fan tbh.
-
Agreed, but the fact that Souness is still in charge because we're still in the FA Cup is ridiculous anyway. It should have nothing to do with that.
-
Yes, but can Ferdinand really play as a holding midfielder or is his best position in defence? Hansen isn't really clear about it...
-
And what the fuck is Parker talking about? Souness has taken all the blame? What a joke, he will blame the tea lady before he blames himself. And yes, it's been fantastic the way he protects his players, especially when he implies that the ones he has at his disposal are shit and would never play if his door-openers were fit. Incidentally, Bolton and ManU have bigger injury problems than us and they seem to cope pretty well - could you imagine Souness' press conference after a game where he had to play a central defender and a striker in midfield? They would have to drag him out because he'd never stop going on about injuries.

I realise you're completely obsessed with "expensive foreigners", but once again, there are just as many (if not more, in relative terms) overpriced English players. £30m for Rio Ferdinand? £8.5m for Dean Richards? £7m for Jenas? £8m for Crouch? £6.5m for Beattie (who, if I remember correctly, you think we should have signed)? The list is endless. 85715 Crouch is good. Beattie would have been better than Kluivert [correct or not ?] Don't believe I ever said much about Jeanarse, apart from being soft as shite for a central midfield player, and should never, ever have won the young player of the year award ahead of rooney for starters [for which I was slaughtered] 30m for ferdinand is manu's business, i have never said anything about this Nor Dean richards 85743 I don't think Beattie would have been better than Kluivert, but that's not the point. As I said in my first post, the point I'm making is that there are just as many overpriced and overrated English players than there are "expensive foreigners", as you call them. Cort cost in excess of £7m, Jeffers was £8m, Bramble something like £5m, etc., the list is endless.

Arsenal are one of the favourites for the Cup though, we're blatantly not. Arsenal have a good chance of winning it, we haven't. That's not to say people shouldn't be happy about being in the draw for the next round, but it does explain why some people fail to get excited about yet another piss-poor performance against a League Two team. 85712 Arsenal were knocked out away to a very good premiership side, and their fans are gutted. Gemmill made a point that he wasn't comparing us with them, so why did he bring it up at all? Just out of interest, when was the last time a premiership side was beaten by a league 2 side anyway? 85714 I hadn't realised Arsenal were knocked out, I've just come in from a long night out and haven't seen any results yet apart from ours.

I'll hold my hands up and say I was one of those who thought he was a good signing, based on what I'd seen from him at Auxerre. I did think we paid over the odds though (who didn't?). He was absolutely rotten yesterday. I agree with Renton. The match didn't ruin my weekend, but it certainly didn't put me in a celebratory mood. We're losing every game in the League and we've been made to look very poor by two League Two teams - what is there to celebrate? The fact that we're likely to go out in the next round when we get drawn against a better team? That's like Shepherd saying that Souness is safe as long as we're in still in the Cup - it's pointless because it should have nothing to do with Souness getting the sack.
-
Annoying indeed, what a tool. He was right though when he said that you couldn't tell the two teams apart. It was an embarrassing performance.
