1. If Allardyce were to resign though...
2. How was it Gemmill? 83128 Class. Did some of the new stuff which obviously no one knew with the album not being out til today (I think?), but did a lot of old Verve stuff an'all. The sound in the Sage is ridiculously good btw - you could almost be listening to the CD. 83234 I got the new CD a couple of weeks ago from someone who downloaded it off the intraweb and it's class.
3. I'm another one who said that going from what I'd seen of him in La Liga, he looked like a very good player and I still stand by that. Like Shearergol said, it was always going to be difficult for him to adapt for a number of reasons, but do you seriously think that because he has failed to perform under the circumstances, he isn't a good player? And if I remember correctly, you were one of the posters who went around calling people stupid for wanting Souness out because you thought he was doing a good job. So much for clowns...
4. As I said in another thread, I would be absolutely horrified if we got Venables.
5. Agree, and only he knows if he can recapture the momerntum he had before. Assuming he was then short term, I don't see why Allardyce would want the England job just yet, he would be a good manager for us because he employs all the modern training and treatment techniques, his planning is meticulous, he motivates and manages top players who have been around a lot, and lastly he's a builder. Every year Bolton have improved under him, he'd be here for the long haul and I for one would give him time. 82998 I agree with Keegan short term and Allardyce in the summer.
6. It's nothing to do with the players, most managers in the league would happily want to work with this group of players. On paper, the players we have are better than the ones who got uns into the Champions League, apart from one or two exceptions. If Robson had been told in 2003 that he could go out and sign Owen, Emre, Parker and Luque and an £8m defender, we would have been challenging for the title the next season. It's all down to the manager. If we can hold on to the better players we have and and if we can get a good manager in, there's no reason why we can't turn it all around.
7. Dear God, no! Graham is just another dour, unimaginative version of Souness and as for "El Tel", words fail to describe the utter horror I would feel if he was appointed.
8. Le Guen is available. I read last week that he has turned down a number of offers, but would quite like to manage outside of France.
9. Apparently Green thinks the fans are being fickle.
10. They will, but they'll then deny it's happening, and claim that a large group of supporters are there to cheer Souness' name. 82804 Does Gemmill constitute a large group now?
11. They started to show that on Sky 82794 best thing ive heard in a long time, i hope someone slits his throat to be honest Like a lot of people before me, i just dont want souness sacked now....i want him dead and a very painful death at that. Ive been having beautiful dreams about souness being hanged, crucified, tortured on a rack, beinbg stabbed with a 100 daggers, having his carcass dragged by hungry dogs, having his dirty corpse being eaten by scavengers. I love imagining myself tearing apart his filthy body with a very large chainsaw 82797 Get a grip, man. I want him sacked today but there's absolutely no need for that.
12. Blackburn fans must be pissing themselves and who can blame them? They were about to sack him until the Fat One came along and actually paid them to get rid of him. And look where we are now...
13. Today's excuse: controversial goal, shouldn't have been given, referee was to blame.
14. Fucking hell, I'm saying this every week but surely he has to go now? What is the Fat One waiting for, a full-blown relegation fight?
15. Yes, but he's not Spanish and "applies himself".
16. Which is not surprising. In a way I'm afraid he's bound to fail when there are tossers like Lowes who spend all game moaning about him. He'll never say a bad word about Souness though who is directly responsible for players like Luque not performing as well as they could due to his excuse of a 'game plan'.
17. Lowes has spent virtually all match getting on Luques back.
18. Dickov should have scored apparently, Given saves.
19. I hate both lots, Miserable Mick Martin and Justin Lockwoods shite commentary, then you have the sycophants of BBC Newcastle. 82742 Miserable Mick and Lockwood aren't much better, true. They're made to look good by Lowes though, who is simply full of shit. Anderson is all right IMO.
