Agree, and only he knows if he can recapture the momerntum he had before. Assuming he was then short term, I don't see why Allardyce would want the England job just yet, he would be a good manager for us because he employs all the modern training and treatment techniques, his planning is meticulous, he motivates and manages top players who have been around a lot, and lastly he's a builder. It's nothing to do with the players, most managers in the league would happily want to work with this group of players. On paper, the players we have are better than the ones who got uns into the Champions League, apart from one or two exceptions. If Robson had been told in 2003 that he could go out and sign Owen, Emre, Parker and Luque and an £8m defender, we would have been challenging for the title the next season. It's all down to the manager. If we can hold on to the better players we have and and if we can get a good manager in, there's no reason why we can't turn it all around.
