  1. Yeah I tried The Wire but couldn't be arsed to put the effort in to the dialogue. Might be because it was less intense but I'd also add The West Wing up there as I can dip in and rewatch 95% of episodes and still thoroughly enjoy them even after numerous views. Also think Dexter is up there for me.
  2. I would also say that it's the fact that none of them are standing up and acting as adults and saying fuck this shit that should destroy faith in politics.
  3. I almost gave up on BB in the second season like but stuck it out which I'm extremely glad I did. I did think maybe the sopranos' status might be due to it being one of the first really intense modern shows and maybe now I've seen so many similarly intense stories it's lost something in comparison.
  4. I'm going to commit absolute TV heresy. I didn't see The Sopranos first time around but caught odd snatches of quite a few episodes over the years and knew I was going to have to watch it eventually despite there being a lot of it. Anyway Sky Atlantic have started it from the beginning on Thursdays and I watched the first couple last week and wasn't that impressed. Obviously the performances and characters are there but I just didn't feel engaged at all. I'll probably keep going for a while though.
  5. So they try and make a big deal of having made bids in excess of our record last summer but won't consider paying now about what we paid that same record signing fourteen fucking years ago.
  6. Household budget/national economy allegories - thick as shit, plain and simple.
  7. We did withstand the crash and the economy was recovering. Then the tories got in and applied ideology to punish the poor.
  8. As part of an Ashley "don't rock the boat" PR stunt.
  9. I saw the last half an hour or so of it and while it's slightly Spinal Tap-ish, I found it strangely moving.
  10. Yup, as I keep saying and said to people I work with after the vote, most of the leave votes came from their friends, neighbours and relatives rathen than Northern protest votes. I've seen arguments which go against the prevailing view on here that Labour should be doing better in the polls (which I agree with) that states there's a stubborn 40% or so who remain very pro-leave and that just happens to be what tory support is stuck at.
  11. The homeless bloke who died just outside Parliament a few weeks ago supposedly had a job - that's where we've got to.
  12. Reading comments in the guardian it appears we're a team of dirty bastards who deserve to be relegated for Shelvey's tackle alone. Its as if Rooney, Cantona and Keane never existed. It's nice to have a reminder of why I despise the cunts so much.
  13. Worst thing is I reckon that just like last year 2 or 3 half decent players would see us safe but I fear there'll be literally fuck all this window.
  14. The arguments over Banks's electoral spending also ignores the direct Russian Cambridge Analytica based targeted ads as well. As an aside on the idiots assertions about project fear, I've also read today that the ftse has fallen by an amount in the last year which exceeds the UK's entire 45 year contribution to the EU.
  15. That middle one is so close to qualifying for Viz's Up the arse corner.
  16. What looks like proof that Cohen was in Prague talking to Russian agents as per the Steele dossier has been published. Dossier has been bang on so far - which means we still have the piss tape to come.
  17. Very "modern" - he did put a hand on his shoulder but Salah saw the touch as an opportunity whereas in my view a good play would have stayed up. As hmhm said, we'd never have got it in a million years - the ref just quietly gave them everything.
  18. No, man utd were the new Liverpool - the cunts got everything in the 70s and 80s in exactly the same way. "Be ambitious" says shitebag Walker - with fucking what you stupid jock cunt?
  19. The distinction between the crown and her wealth is pretty vague - she also technically owns all of the land in the UK - so yeah, not a billionaire.
  20. Global capitalism ran out of more money in 2008 than has been made in the history of the world you thick cunt.
  21. Could cost him the leadership this - once the youth backlash hits and is reflected in polls it could be the start of the end for him. I'm quite happy to contemplate a better leader as long as there's not a huge centrist swing.
  22. Maybe I'm weird but I find it amusing that after centuries of shite, a United Ireland is coming closer because of tory stupidity and English racism and ignorance.
  23. That's actually what Corbyn was mouthing.
  24. It does smack of the scouse cunts who think dominating the 70s and 80s means they have a divine right to always compete. I hope it takes the Manc Cunts just as long to find their Klopp.
  25. I'm all for prioritising skilled workers to an extent but 30k is quite high for a lot of decent jobs. On Renton's point I don't believe a single leaver gave a nanosecond's thought to British people working in the EU and if they did, wouldn't give a flying fuck.
