  1. LT's article in the guardian said there were a thousand at the Gillingham game - a classic Mackem multiplier - there were a couple of hundred as far as I can remember from talking to people who were there (from both sides).
  2. It's all relative - Juventus are a huge club but Madrid are larger in EC/CL terms.
  3. Okay it was a pen, though I've seen ones like that for us not given. I just meant it smacked of the European version of what I call Red shirt rule - big clubs getting a disproportionate number of late pens in dubiously long injury time. I
  4. Haven't seen it but the convenience of a pen then fucking stinks.
  5. What do you think is the answer Strawb?
  6. If the 130k paid to Stormy was campaign money he's fucked.
  7. The books by one of my favourite authors and its a bit weird how it switches from a historical story to something well weird. Hope they capture it well.
  8. From my pov it leads to governments in the Major/Blair mould - a hint of decency but nothing bold to address real change on fundamental issues like housing/public ownership/taxation as they don't want to upset what they perceive as their chances of extending power. Whether it was misplaced loyalty or anti-tory resentment, I think the fact that 40% voted for a moderately left wing manifesto shows that the view that only a centrist platform can beat the tories is wrong - I think Blair could have done a lot more in 97 if he'd wanted to.
  9. If you think they'd do better without him, how do you explain the unexpectedly good GE results? A heinous tory government isn't the entire reason as 2015 showed. I wouldn't mind a new leader but not at the cost of a return to centrist policies as I think there is appetite (especially among the young) for something more decent.
  10. I'd add Renton that despite thinking Brexit is the stupidest thing this country has ever done, its almost a sailed ship - all anyone can do is try and make the best of it. Basing an entire thing on reversing it is pretty much a waste of time in the short/medium term.
  11. Well their list of "values" included low immigration as well as being pro Europe plus being in favour of "entrepreneurs" i.e.a mix of NL and ukip policies meant to attract "soft" labour voters. The only possible result, like the fucking SDP, is more tory governments.
  12. Clegg refusing to rule out joining the new party - as expected by cunts, for cunts.

    Yes Gemmill...

I always thought he was a bit like David Batty - when he was "allowed" to play or allowed himself to play he was a much better footballer than what people thought. RIP.
  14. Daring to dream now - though I still don't trust the cunts to see it through.
  15. Thing is there'll be a similar article a clued up journalist could write for evert single fucking one of the twat's "reigns".
  16. Slimani looked like a pub league player (understandable) at times but with flashes of huge promise - pisser he can't play next week.
  17. Not even rural - all of the south east London commuter towns and villages outside the inner city. Funny thing is nearly everyone I work with who mentioned it were remainers but their neighbours were majority leavers - obviously biased by old/retired racists.
  18. I've read several articles where people who voted for him have basically said "I don't care what he says and does, he's delivered on taxes and the economy so he's doing fine".
  19. Looks like Derby have done what Boro did to us a few years ago and arranged for their game to be called off as they're short of players. I can't stand Warnock but he's spot on here.
  20. There's a lot of running scared, arrogance and idiocy in his response to the investigation but deliberately firing the bloke to cost him his pension is beyond cuntery.
  21. Yup, Hyde Park One and the Shard are more effective deterrents than trident now. Seriously though, they have the means to hurt them via property but tories never mess with money.

RIP Stephen Hawking. Did anyone genuinely read and or understand A brief history of time? I read it twice a little while apart and convinced myself I sort of got it - might try again.
  23. Just got to the top of the stairs in the ground to see the first one go in. Coppers were putting on buses from the city centre to the ground but they looked suspiciously like paddy wagons so we declined - then couldn't get a taxi for ages. Excellent trip overall.
  24. Not forgetting the records he broke at Charlton and West Ham.
  25. For pointing out the tories are Russia's paid for bitches?
