Obama once again showing America is Israel's lapdog.

The thing that saddens me is their casual attitude to civilian deaths considering their own history. You would think they'd be ultra-cautious in that context. I honestly think that's a result of the religious angle. -

It's not black&white either way - as a lefty I do recognise the "evils" of the past but I'm not blind to the positives either unlike most. To a large extent the "civilisation" of the third world has been good for our species imo. -

Nearly all of the border related problems in the ME (and Africa for that matter) are to some extent Britain's fault. (Stoked by tribalism of course) -

Thats all they need - the jewish lobby via banking wealth is all they've ever needed. -

Via terrorism of course. Its a classic example of religious stupidity - once phrases like "holy land" are used, rationality goes out of the window. (Applies to both sides of course) -

tbf we should have suggested a brain tumour as soon as the ST praise started - no way love is that strong.

RIP - thought this was a birthday thread - sadly not.

Well the question still remains about a decision making process on behalf of those who did and those who didn't - if it was one or a very few on either side of the fence then fair enough but if it's roughly even then like I say, there's nowt wrong with asking the question without it being a witch hunt.

Without completely backing Ken, I don't think its wrong to point out that "sensible" airlines like BA took the decision to not overfly the area. Those that did aren't necessarily "cheapo/third world" ones as Ken implied but I would ask them if they did consider it. I think "the authorities said it was okay" shouldn't be an easy copout.

I thought it was a fucking disgrace we signed the cunt on loan in the first place. Modern footballer ethics aside, the manner of him preferring QPR should be his defining moment.

All the best Stevie. I've had a much lesser scare in the last couple of weeks and one thing I've realised is that no matter how scared you are, the NHS is staffed by people for who these things are "normal" and they're great at calming fears. Put yourself in their hands and get well soon.

RIP I was only on nodding terms with John but he was always a reassuring presence at away games - you knew you were in the right place when you saw him.

It always adds a little bit to my sadness about religion's tenacity how women continue to embrace it considering what a bad deal they generally get from it.

Yes and they're all mysoginist/sexists. Fair point on the hard lads though.

I was just thinking that watching a report on the female bishop vote in the CofE - why the fuck do we allow blatant exemptions from employment laws?

I'm all for people enjoying a day out and seeing a canny goal but celebrating like that for a pre-seasoner against Oldham is still a bit sad.

Was on SSN a little while ago - standard soundbites really. According to them he's continuing his holiday and not going to NZ

I used to have (and probably still do somewhere) a set which had a full length of leg for the winter which ended up looking even worse - like a semi-fat cunt ballet dancer in black.

It's pretty "routine" nowadays from what I could gather - they were certainly setup and familiar with the spiel. My blood should be at a good level of thinness in a couple of weeks and the rest of the time is just a precaution.

It's been a scary day for me. I've had a sore calf/back of the knee/back of the thigh for a week which I'd put down to a slight hamstring strain. Then I noticed the calf was quite big compared to my other leg and the soreness was ranging around to the front. Id also had some breathlessness so decided to go to the GPs this morning and she confirmed what the bastard internet had suggested - a possible clot - so she sent me off to the local hospital. Without anyone being obvious I got the impression it was serious as I was successivley jumped ahead of other people in the wait for a blood test, an ECG and a chest x-ray. Then they told me they didn't have a slot for an ultrasound of my leg until 4pm and it was okay if I wanted to go home which was a huge relief. I went back for the scan and it was confirmed I have a clot in my upper thigh (this causes blood to pool in the calf) but on the other hand they confirmed (probably a bit late) that my heart, lungs and blood were all perfectly fine. Upshot is I need to take Warfarin for 6 months (first few days via self-injection) and have frequent blood tests but otherwise it isn't world ending. I rang my sister before I went and was telling her I hoped it was similar to the last time I had a bit of a health scare in 93 when possible gallstones turned out to be nothing but the "fright" was a wake up call which resulted in me losing a shit load of weight and getting quite fit. Since then I've been up and down a couple of times and I'm currently at the wrong end of the scale (but not as bad as I was originally) so maybe another scare is what I need. I'd also mention I was treated brilliantly all day by all of the staff - brings it home what's at risk.

I think when people mention depreciation as a reason not to buy a new car, they forget the balance of a proper warranty and a degree of confidence that it wont need many repairs. -
I think the way BMW and other's are using hybrids is a good bridge for the time-being - I got some sales blurb for the I3 and it's impressive (though hideous).
