Talked to an agent today about a six month contract in Luxembourg. I'm in two minds as it would mean either a weekly or fortnightly commute or maybe renting my house out as it will likely be extended to a year or more. I need to research the place to assess the cost of living etc as the rate is good but not spectacular.

I don't think from what you've said that you commute but that environment really shows up iPhone/free with the phone earphones for what they are by inflicting tinny crap on other people. I have tried cheap and even reasonably expensive earphones (£20-£40) in the past but the difference between those and the Shure ones I own now is like comparing Shola with Beardsley.

When I still lived in Shields a mate of mine was hit by a car (nowt serious, just bruises) at the roundabout at the town end of Ocean Road as we made our way for a curry. We were all pissed but I remembered the reg of the car and gave a statement to the coppers the next day. The bloke claimed it was a company car available to more than one person so as they couldn't prove who was driving he got off with a warning. It really is a shit thing to do (leaving the scene).
