If you're depressed and think you can't go on.
NJS replied to Kevin Carr's Gloves's topic in General Chat
Class is a two mind thing - I know my parents were working class and consider myself the same depsite a pretty good life because of how I was brought up but think if I had had kids they'd probably think of themsleves as middle class (see my niece/nephew as good examples). It's a mixture of inheritance, attitude, pride and then lifestyle as an adult. I would like to think I'd have tried to instill good working class values (community/humility/work ethic) if I'd had the chance but I see a lot of people who forget their legacy. I'm not saying we should all want to shit in an outside bog going forward but I think remembering that past is worthwhile (possibly metaphorically but perhaps literally). One thing I do despise though is working class respect for the aristocracy - as I've said before the first time I went to London when I was sixteen, I would have loved to have had access to a time machine and transported proper working class mililtants back to a point in history when we could have done what the French did and have a revolution - How anyone can wander around the place and not think fuck me this is wrong is beyond help imo. -
I've been thinking for a while after seeing that South African (Pistorious?) that those blades are a bit disturbing for some reason - I realised today that they make me think of the aliens out of District 9.

The fiddle is there's no VAT on "hire purchase" in various forms so they pocket 20% of the price.

How does saving say £1bn on the benefits bill really affect a total debt of £800bn or a structural defecit of £120bn? Idealoogy of bigotry driven small beer solution.
-
So why was your list of solutions based on stopping benefits and deporting immigrants - how will that change banking?
-
Says the idiot who thinks the economy was fucked by the poor and immigrants.

Seen the clip of Nicholas' tan - fucking Cuprinol man.

I think if theres a chance of rehabilitation then its worth trying - I don't like writing people off as a matter of course. Having said that some people are inherent write-offs and in those cases I have no problem with simple punishement.I think Breivik is an example of the latter. I also think this case makes for an interesting debate about insanity or indeed "evil". The basis for finding him "sane" was that he had planned this and could explain his reasoning in a "reasonable" fashion however warped the actual logic is. Personally I've always felt if there was a definition of "evil" other than the supernatural crap its someone who knows exactly what they are doing and does it anyway - unlike fully unhinged people.

Just trying to avoid any "You think football started in 1992" comebacks. I think they played a Polish team (open to correction) and I can't imagine any more than 47 being allowed to travel there in the 70s.
-
If Pardew thinks a team similar to last nights will see us through when games are played in tough periods then he's mistaken imo.
-
They did play one tie in 73 like.

If there is new medical evidence then fair enough. If its just the testimony of people who've said nowt for 10 years then I'm suspicious. Still a bit disappointing that he's all but admitted it.

Wonderful mix of true common sense and insults there Stevie.

Olympics temporary kick.

Can't see it when Wenger was bemoaning lack of creative edge against the mackems - not exactly Tiote's game.
-
It's a fair cop but: a. He'd better not get more than Wenger did. b. That Henry Winter who got on his high horse about it during that Sky Supplement shite can fuck right off - taped any murder victims phones lately Henry? (I know it wan't him or his paper but any Journalist preaching "ethics" is automatically on dodgy ground as far as I'm concerned)

It would be towards the top end of the range 2.0 probably used - apparently they don't make the 3.2 any more.

Starting to get the new car itch - wandered into the local Audi dealer today to look at TTs - anyone had one? Are they a woman's car?

They are also "designed" by breeding to display exactly the traits people want. I accept that people will feel sad and miss dead pets but its about degrees.
-
It's not the being upset at a pet dying that I don't get - its having a personal relationship with something non-human and considering it "equal" as a member of your family in the first place. I thiink it relegates how you feel about your real family - hearing people saying "it was like losing a child" - fuck off man. And its not just the familial/genetic bond angle - its just not a human. I have respect for animals in their own right (despite the food hypocrisy) but morphing them into extended family members and mistaking their pack loyalty as "love" is just not right imo. Without wanting to trivialise other peoples feelings I'm willing to bet that those who have mourned pets haven't lost someone really important like their parents - if they have and still insist pets are worthy of proper grief then I feel sorry for them.
-
I've never had any pets and can't empathise grief for animals at all - I don't think I'm naturally un-empathic as despite not having kids, I can't imagine anything worse than losing one.

Stupid doing it in a church - gives him the excuse to be stupid about it.

I got a Royal Mail SD card through the door yestaerday and knew I hadn't ordered anything but picked up the package anyway. Correct name, full address and from a local shop I've passed but never been to - a pair of size five woman's tap shoes I think even if I'd sleep walked and taken some subconsious desire to be a tranny dancer online with no memory, I'd have least got a pair that would come within a million miles of fitting. I'll ring them tomorrow - as it happens its just round the corner from wher I'm going for a haircut on Friday - mabe I should get them to fit me a wig instead.

Bit of a fiddle but if you take out Shipman, the number of murders is virtually zero compared with 100 years ago. The idea of some nostalgic paradise is as usual bollocks.

Should people have to apply for a license to have children.

I've always thought of it in terms of near future Sci-fi rather than current female hormone based drugs - something like nanobots which prevent fertilization by destorying sperm which could be sent a "sease and desist" order by wi-fi if necessary.
