  1. It would be murder for all you out of towners, the likes of yourself, Happy Face etc...who would get branded gloryhunters straight away. Yeah nobody from outside the Stevie exclusion zone ever went pre 92 and no Sky boys could possible come from the city could they? Fuck off again.
  2. Just thinking LM could argue this was how Shepherd operated which is fair enough but I think it would work better now on a much more solid base.
  3. Fuck the debt. I think for the size of club we are, being debt free is great, but if bigger clubs can cope with debt based on an invest to succeed to service the debt type models then I wouldn't have a problem with an initial injection even if it did come from loans. I honestly do think that £50m-100m would see us top 4.
  4. I think it's a balance - making the club a "proper" business with no debts is great but I'd still like to see a possibly one-off splurge to get us going. Maybe him selling now to someone else to do part b is the best of both worlds.
  5. How many times have you advocated severe punishments for petty crimes? See beyond the actual religion and its the same principle - vengeance not justice.
  6. Yes it does. Unless you have some other criteria other than a court of law. Well it proves that he is innocent in the eyes of the law. But like I said he's been convicted of attempted rape, got several rape allegations to his name, as well as a string of other issues with women against his name. He's not the sweet innocent, low intelligence individual, that wouldn't/couldn't hurt anyone that he is being painted to be in some circles (unless you class attempted rape as not hurting anyone) in fact he's proven to pretty nasty and dangerous. Really speaking his profile is exactly the sort that you would expect in someone that ended up killing a female celebrity for no real reason. As to whether he did kill Dando, or whether it'll ever be able to be proven beyond reasonable doubt. I saw a documentary years ago about the Birmingham four while they were still in jail - they were certainly IRA sympathisers and may have even been involved in the movement. That doesn't mean however they weren't fitted up by the police and did do the bombing. See also the bloke who was fitted up for that Rachel Nikell (Sp?) - another dodgy fucker but no murderer. The George prosecution failed because they couldn't offer any decent evidence whatsoever - I'd call that pretty safe.
  7. Yes it does. Unless you have some other criteria other than a court of law. Spouting about Hamza doesn't deflect from you relishing killing an innocent man - or the irony once again of you slagging of a Muslim when you'd relish Sharia law. Perhaps you should have listened to Hamza - his world is much more like the one you want.
  8. To be fair Kev has gone after Modric and Aimar which suggests he realises the need for a playmaker. Just have to hope we can find one.
  9. If he's scored in the first minute he could have had a future which makes me almost glad he missed. He reminds me of Tony Cunningham - not in style just for the fact I never think he will score so it's a genuine surprise when he does.
  10. Nothings changed - we still have some half-decent but ultimately mediocre players along side irretrievable shite like Ameobi. Guttirez looked half decent but unless we sign two midfielders who can actually play football the season will be another write-off.
  11. The conviction always seemed not quite right to me. I also don't like that having been proved to have got it wrong in a court of law the coppers said they were disappointed and mentioned Dado's family to play the sympathy card to deflect criticism.
  12. Threads like this always make me realise I'm "too much" of a Newcastle fan rather than a football fan - I agree with what you say about McAllister up to a point but I always bring to mind NUFC related grudges - in his case an obscene rake down Rob Lee's achilles at Leeds that he should have been hanged for never mind sent off (he got a yellow). This is probably why I generally prefer talking about football on here rather than on N-O - there are too many "football fans" on there - I was sickened when they had a thread on favourite ever moment in football how many of them chose non-NUFC related events- and that wasn't just the foreigners [/Gemmill]
  13. Costing said solicitors money.
  14. I know I shouldn't but what's the correlation between those quotes and him refusing a pay cut?
  15. I use newsgroups for my porn/movies but haven't bothered so far with SSL encryption which is a couple of quid a month more - apperntly that's pretty secure.
  16. I have no problem with WIse if his role is to identify and buy young talent like Spears but feel that "senior" transfers should be promped by Keegan. Again I have no problem with professional negotiators or even an initial recommendation process but that has to be rubber stamped by Kev. They claim this is how it does work - like most I have doubts.
  17. I know its a cliche but I've bought (and downloaded for free) albums in the past on the strength of one track only to find that the rest is nearly all crap. This means I could have paid £10 for one or two tracks. I can't think of anything else where you take a risk on a purchase like this which can mean something you've bought is almost useless. In an ideal world I'd let people download all the tracks on an album and then have a trial period like software where you either pay for the ones you like or they stop working - technology permitting of course.
  18. La clunge surely? - you can't get much more feminine than a clunge.
  19. Do you complain about the differences in the price of big macs too? I don't know - if the burger sellers all get together and impose pricing models on geographical areas based on what they can get away with and against anti-cartel laws which governments completely bottle out of taking them to task over like the bastards in the music industry do then yes I would object. Remember the CD-Wow case - CDs sourced from countries with all royalties and taxes paid (therefore no bleating moral issues) still could not be imported into the UK because the record companies insisted that they set the price - not the free market. Fuck them all. If the Burger sellers get together....? I'm pretty sure Big Mac sellers all fall under one umbrella organisation Interesting perspective, markets good, copyrights bad. Hmmm. That's the thing though - with orgs like the BPI and the RIAA it's like Burger King, MacDonalds and KFC all getting together - that was my point - maybe they do but they aren't as blatant as the music industry. I'm not against copyright protection per se and would like to see more Radiohead type ventures but spare me the tears for the actual companies and their lobbying businesses.

  21. As I might have said before - until they explain who is stealing the extra 25p (79p Vs 99c) from UK customers they can fuck right off.
  22. Pop into Liverpool as well and Stevie will want your babies. (Why would anyone want to go to Shields who wasn't from there btw?)
  23. Not bad - the only thing I'd add is that being Newcastle fans we should have realised exactly what would happen when we did boo him.
  24. Don't know if its improved since I went to a game 10 years ago - the occasion was enjoyable because of the enthusiasm of the fans but there was just something wrong with it that I couldn't put my finger on until my mate summed it up by saying it was like Women's football - nobody put a decent tackle in all game.

    Earphones

Yeah Shures are the biz - I have a pair of 4s - get some off E-bay as you get a range of ear inserts or can buy new ones so no hygiene worries.
