A bit off-topic but fuck it. I've been thinking over the last week or so and especially today about how I feel about football and NUFC at the moment. With today's news from Ashley I see at best years of mediocrity and struggle and I've come to the conclusion that I won't be unhappy if we go down. A couple of my mates were talking to some Leicester fans when we played West Ham who were enjoying going to different places (though only wanted to go once) and I can now see where they were coming from. Paying £48 to go to Stamford bridge just doesn't appeal to me any more and trips to home games costing at least £100 are even less palatable considering the anticipated dross.

If they'd put their chances away it would have been 10 - maybe would have been better in the scheme of things - after all we are now stable and safe aren't we?

I think in cases like this the club should be able to show some balls and ask the EPL to review the ref's performance linked to the 4 or 5 key incidents (including the FK they scored from). I'd love to see Hackett give a view of all of them and even say "Of the 5 he got 4 wrong which is unacceptable". I know this sounds bitter and petty - I remember us playing Birmingham a couple of years ago and the ref not sending off Savage for a second yellow in the 90th minute and the commentator saying something like "what would be the point?" - the point would be make sure he was punished and not to cheat the team they were playing the next week out of him missing the game. I know we won't get the points back but surely everyone has an interested in getting people like Dean out of the game.
