My mam used to bring me food parcels when I was at Uni but they consisted of stottie & ham and pease pudding mainly. I'm not convinced that CT would even know what to do with that!

Hoy it all in a pan with some frozen veg, bit tomato, little tub of Chinese curry sauce.

Lovely. :puke:

Not sure what to call this. Started off as a "what's left in cupboards curry", but ended up in a bowl as a nice spivey brothy / soup.

I'm sure the balti pie and cheeseburgers at the club shop are made from the finest cuts of locally reared livestock.

Problem is I used to work in a butchers and it used to disgust me that all the face flesh etc went into pork sausage. Put me right off pork "Made up" products for years.

My mother always offers me a pek sandwich even though I've refused constantly for 30 years.

It's Advent and I'm Swedish (or at least I would be if I was American), so it's time for more baking today. Already made the usual chocolate slices and these smashing crumbly rye cookies with honey, cinnamon and nutmeg, almost more savoury than they are sweet. Next up it's ginger thins using my gran's recipe, which is so old I had to convert the units from hogsheads and tierces and god knows what else.

CT that picture looks like leftover school dinners. Hope it did taste better than it looks.

Right then, got an email from the SVP's admin the other day saying he was offering his close team a special christmas present. He is based in Madrid and he offered the choice of 6 bottles of 'special red wine' or a 5J Bellota ham. You may have expected me to choose the wine but i am mad about Spanish ham. 5J is the very best of the best (Cinco Jotas). I was in Madrid yesterday and saw the admin and she said its the full 7kg of ham  So am expecting this in the post any day soon (without the holder, i will have to buy one of them). My butcher is going to lend us the knife you need to cut the fucker. Going to be a few easy christmas gifts as there is no way we can eat all that.

Honestly, i dont think i've ever tasted anything nicer in my life. And i go to the sort of restaurants that specialise in things like lightly fried puppy dogs noses.

All to do with the acorns the pigs eat apparently. Going to turn my phone off, close the curtains, open some wine and eat it till i pass out.
