Harry Redkapp for England!

Dont reckon theyre going to approach him. I bet old Psycho is gutted he took the Olympic job. So It looks like Hodgson now.

At least expectations wont be high.

Chelsea looked strong there. Barca will demolish them over 2 legs though.

Good news for us. Spurs look fucked and a congested fixture list for Chelsea. Is the FA cup final before or after the last game this year?

Cup Final is 5th May and the last game of the league is on the 13th May. Chelsea are also supposed to be playing Liverpool in the league on the 5th May so that one will need to be re-arranged as well.

Whoever wins gets the Cup AND 3 points.

Can't help but have a chuckle at Given. Fucked off in search of riches to City. Got displaced by their youth keeper and fobbed off to Villa who are utter shite, whilst we are in Europe with a better keeper.

I'm sure he felt better playing for Man City when we were in the Championship.

Selective memory?

Interesting to see where all of our players have gone who we were once upset about:

Given: at Villa, fighting relegation

Bassong: cant get into the spurs side, on loan at Wolves, got sent off after 8 minutes last weekend

Milner: barely gets a game for city anymore, usually off the bench

NZogbia: spotty time at villa, including a brief falling out with Mcleish

Barton: fighting relegation with QPR

Nolan: playing in the championship and could very well be there next season

And I'll leave out Carroll and Enrique cause we all know where they stand. Just interesting to see that most of our players who wanted to leave nufc for brighter futures have done exactly the opposite

Off glory glory:

So we have a situation where we may well finish outside the top 4. So this is what we are left with:

1) Harry gone to England.

2) Modric (having already expressed his desire to leave), re-iterating this once more

3) Bale attracting vultures to pick at the rotting Spurs caucass.

4) Ledley King (31), verge of retiring

5) Brad Friedel (40)

6) Carlo Cudicini (36)

7) Gallas (34), Nelsen (34), Parker (31)

8 ) Adebayor the only semi decent striker at the club returning to his parent club

So.

-We have to attract a new manager.

-Quite possibly need to buy at least 1 top quality goalkeeper.

-Need possibly 2 top quality centre backs (possibly including Caulker)

-Need to buy a top quality striker (STILL AFTER 100 YEARS OF LOOKING FOR ONE)

-Possibly buy a replacement for Bale

-Possibly buy a replacement for Modric

-Buy serious backup or competition for places for the likes of Lennon and if he is still here, Bale.

if they're smart with the money (on a par with our recent dealings) theyd get from Bale and Modric they'd be able to strengthen their squad really well

Tad pessimistic that summary IMO. They peaked with Redknapp and will slowly revert back to type but there's still buys out there who can replace the likes of Modric and Bale (though the former is one of the best in Europe in his position tbh and he'd have been gone, CL football or not). If Redknapp does go, they need to get someone in who is more tactically astute if they want to get back in the CL positions; at times this season, the way Redknapp has set them up against certain sides has been asking for trouble and he doesn't seem to learn with regards to Europe either.

How about looking at silverware won by the departees..

Given - FA cup winner

Milner - FA cup winner & League cup runner up

Carroll - Leaue cup winner

Enrique - League cup winner

Duff - Europa league runner up

Martins - League cup winner

Carr - League cup winner

Emre - Super Kupa winner & Super Lig winner

Faye - FA cup runner up

Sadly, if we were to base our retention efforts on trying to appeal to a players genuine desire for silverware, we'd be losing out to bids from the likes of Leicester, Middlesbrough and Wimbledon MK Dons, never mind the Liverpool's etc that Leazes is worried about.

We'd do well to keep our mouths shut about that altogether tbh, our record is a complete disgrace and the biggest opportunities were all blown. A player is statistically better off being at virtually any other club than here using that criterion. Lets try and be positive about putting a good team together in the here and now and congratulate ourselves on each of the cunts we've shipped that couldnt give a shit. That doesnt apply to all in that list by any means, but overall, the effect has been a hugely positive one and thats all that matters.
