I'm signing up to Labour specifically to vote for him. 3 Cameron lites who have as much chance at winning an election as Miliband, or a Bennite who might actually grab the publics imagination after 5 years of being boracic under the Tories

Possibly but what Labour would be doing is writing off the next election and possibly their future by really pushing away the centrists who win elections. It would be absolute madness.

As a unite member am being hassled to sign up to vote. Am tempted but the choice is fuckin brutal. I'd never describe myself as a socialist but they can't turn themselves into another bunch of fuckin Tories just to win power. It's fuckin ridiculous.

Well yeah he was but the perception was he wasn't. And the vast majority of his closest colleagues initially weren't. But Hattie has just proved that all that gang wanted was power and shes quite willing to sacrifice any shred of principle she had left to get it again.

It was during a period of unprecedented sustained economic growth so the economy basically looked after itself. I do think there were ideological differences between the two parties even then though. Would the Tories have spent that much on the NHS? They've been clever enough to ring fence a lot of the NHS budget for the time being at least but I don't think they'd have used those years to increase public spending by as much. Of course that's now been spun as a terrible thing which created the economic crash etc. but it was a good thing overall I think. Moving closer to the utter cunts in power now seems like they might as well change their name and throw the towel in. We desperately need a strong opposition(s) atm.

They're not much use as an out of power 'socialist' party.

You don't need to be a socialist to know and accept that "one size fits all" cuts across all departments whilst simultaneously continuing the creeping privitisation of the NHS and education is wrong. Why does absoloutely everything that exists have to make a fuckin profit? Anyone with half a brain and who is fit, able and willing to work will do ok under this government but theyre saying a big "fuck you" to everyone else. Its not socialist to be against all that.

The SNP are playing some pretty petty games but at least theyre putting it up to the tories. Regardless of who wrote Mhairi Black's maiden speech (I certainly believe it was her but the daily hate etc aren't having it) it was the best 10 mins that's come out of that place in fuckin decades.

Always think part of the reason they put her on such a pedestal is because they still love gloating about the damage she caused to working class communities across the UK. It's a big fuck you

I agree which is why the election of Corbyn may move Labour too far to the left to have any electability for the forseeable future. Despite what you think of the other three in the leadershio election they are all more electable on a national level than Corbyn is and are likely to do more good than another five years of Tory rule will do. The Lib Dems got slaughtered for going into government with the Conservatives but if their support hadn't abandoned them as quickly as they did to punish them then I don't think we'd be faced with cuts as deep as we are now.

Yeah Blair the multi-millionaire warmonger giving talks about The Labour Party.

How this man wanders about without getting his head kicked in is one of life's greatest puzzles.
