Gemmill 2,835
Raheem Sterling £49m to City apparently. The world has gone completely mad.
Tom 3,138
Aye, Someone tweeted he actually Rated 2001-2003 Kieron Dyer higher and I agree.
Howay 2,368
City's pure desperation to get in English players isn't it, especially after Delph turned them down. His ego is going to be out of fucking control now mind (if it wasn't already).

aimaad22 38
Aye, Someone tweeted he actually Rated 2001-2003 Kieron Dyer higher and I agree. Man Utd getting Schweinsteiger and Schneiderlin for less than that amount I know City are trying to get in some UK based players but really..
The Fish 813
Wouldn't City have been better served buying a promising youngster from elsewhere for comparative buttons. Like Hughes from Derby, Izzy Brown from West Brom* or Villa's Jack Grealish? Ticks the English box, ticks the promising box, but doesn't cost anywhere near £49m! QPR getting £9m from a sell-on clause. *Chelsea picked him up apparently. Edited July 13, 2015 by The Fish

He's more marketable than them, and already proven to be good enough for the premier league. 50m is buttons to this lot, they've a family worth of about a trillion dollars, they're just buying whoever they fancy buying. Their brand would surely be better served signing a global name (like Schweinsteiger, or Pedro or whomever), rather than Sterling who had a couple of decent seasons for a Europa League level team? Gemmill 2,835
There's no point trying to look for the logic in what Man City do. They're just playing fantasy football at this stage. Wtf happened to the FFP rules btw?
TheGingerQuiff 1,680
It's a dodgy transfer for City like, arming a club that could threaten their CL spot with ~£40m.

Aye, if they were signing Suarez from Liverpool I could understand it, but Sterling isn't the difference between Liverpool & Champions League, nor is he the difference between City and the title, but as you say, if Liverpool go off and make a couple of shrewd signings, they could well take City's Champions League spot. PaddockLad 2,784
Have you seen Rodgers transfer record? Hes never had the shout though. The Anfield transfer "committee" made him take Ballotelli last summer a month after he said that he wasn't signing. Bottom line is Rodgers is a slight upgrade on Pardew as a coach. That's not a high bar. That's why he couldn't get anything out of Ballotelli which is basically his job description i.e. get the best out of the players provided for him, not to recruit them himself.
