i started off about 16 going to the shindig and megadog then went to uni in sheffield and got into drum n bass. last time i went to a serious night was the last circo loco at the end before it shut a couple of years back - a night of minimal techno and tbh i felt way too old for it. used to love going out on friday and not getting to sleep until sunday morning back in the days when i had the stamina.

was anyone else in to it back in the day? or are your 24 hour party days still in full effect? where did/do you go out?

Yes. I never liked the Shindig though. Very up its own arse I thought. Preferred Bloated if we're talking the Riverside. Better people, better music. Don't do it any more like and don't really miss it. Last time was an all-night drum and bass night at Fabric the night before Bobby Robson's last match in charge (away to Villa).

I used to go to Judgement day nearly every month for about 2 or three years when they were on at Newcastle Uni in the late 90's (Even ventured to the After Dark in shouth Sheilds once, jesus wept :D ) Oh and Creamfields last year!

I was at a house pary the other week, got home at 7am, and thats my f*cked for the next couple of days, a few mates were still going at 4pm the next day. I dont think I could even manage that in my prime!

fabric live used to have some ridiculous line ups but it was always way too rammed in there. the tru playaz nights were insane but the end was the home of dnb in london. absolutely amazing venue. did you ever make it there before it shut alex? they used to host the ram, logical progression, renegade hardware and moving shadow nights plus marky and friends, which was just brilliant.

Went to Rockshots in 1989/90 for the first time, used to go there infrequently but often enough to know a few people. Went to the first Rezerections at the Mayfair in 91, then used to travel to the Hacienda, Rennaissance nights all over, Cream, Soak & Back to Basics in Leeds from 92-97. Then i moved to London.

that was standard in my early 20s. get back from the club 5-6am then get back to someone's house, hit the decks and smoke and drink until the pubs open, then plough on through until you drop some time the next morning.

no way i could do it these days. the last time i got anywhere close was my week long stag do in ibiza a couple of years back. we had 3 massive nights and 2 big boozy nights in the space of a week. took me about a month to recover, which was apt given we'd probably consumed about 6 month's worth of booze etc in one week.

I used to go to Promise at Foundation as well as a few other nights regularly in my trance days. There were always plenty of afterparties going on so it usually turned into a weekend-long thing. Struggle to even have a few drinks two nights running these days.

I went to The End a couple of times but it was for Techno nights both times. Great venue as you say. The best set I heard there was an Elliot Eastwick one where he was playing some lush deep house in the smaller room.

Aye loads. Started off going to Walkers (which turned into Planet Earth). Same time I was going to the Phobia's as I knew the organiser (Leeds, Newcastle, Carlisle mainly) when the music was things like altern8 and Rosalla, early 90's. Also went to the tunnel club a few times in Shields. All excellent venues in their day. I liked some Techno and House. Our weekend would start on Friday after work and not end until Sunday AM where I used to sleep through the day, get up for food then go to bed on sunday night.

If I tried to do now what I done then, I'd either be dead or in a padded cell :D

Once Planet Earth closed down, we went to Legends or Shindig at the Riverside but it was never the same.

Also used to get into Rockshots which was a decent night.

I started out getting into Sphincter's when I was 14, then I progressed and moved on to The Bell-End where it was mostly hyper-jizz and dribble. Sometimes if I was really on one I would start at The Shaft, then move onto the Bell-End before crashing out after I'd hammered Sphincter's. This is back when Right Said Fred had hits mind, I was into proper underground shit like that.

I was member of Sublime before it became 'big' here in Sydney. Cost me $50 for a year, but back then it was a little, cosy room on Pitt St, rather than the big commercialised airplane hanger that it is now in Darling Harbour. Scoring a King Crown and turning up here was fucking mint!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Sky Garden was another hang out joint for me back then. A small room on a seventh floor commercial apartment in the CBD, the smell of weed let you know you were there.

Ahh memories...

Sounds shit Kenny G

Does it?

I suppose you had to be there.

This is Sydney, man, not the fucking dreary north-east of England where your balls shrink in the winter time. :D

Sydney; the weather great, the scenery breathless, the girls gorgeous, the MDMA genuinely MDMA, sex is leisure, Sunday breakfasts are heaven and whinging is not allowed . :icon_lol:

Sydney, where men are men, spiders are spiders and knives are spoons.
