Norwich (away)

How bad must our Academy be if Perch is the best we can come up with at CB? Perch's cannot header a ball. Surely Santon would be a better option?

Time to go to plan B Mr Pardew cause that pairing didn't work.

Maybe: Raylor, Simpson, Santon, Ferguson

What does Pardew see in Perch? Really.

His role is to take some of the flack off Obertans.

Well at least thats something he could be good at. Scrap that. He's fucking brilliant at it.

Norwich attacked the weakness we had which was strength and in the air. They deserved their win as they beat us tactically. This has just shown up our sheer lack of depth in the CB area. Perch is a fucking joke, would have played smith there and that's saying something!

We all blame Ashley. Our squad depth was always a ticking time bomb and our good start only makes it worse in the sense that it highlights even more boldly that we are only a few quality players away from European football. Now, as it is, we just have to fight through to January and hope like fuck we get some players in. Not holding my breath though, more likely Tiote and who ever going in the other direction.

Pardew surely must be mistaking effort from Perch in training for ability. After watching this game you'd surely think he won't make that mistake again. There absolutely has to be better options amongst our ranks, actual centre backs who have some presence and ability in defending set pieces - the basics of which are similar in reserves and youth matches. Particularly with defense when you play people out of position they get found out. Even more so when they're lightweights.

Points dropped in games like this will quickly undo the quality start that we've had. Ba's two sublime goals should have been enough to win us this match. Shambolic defending that there is literally no excuse for. They're supposed professionals.

This should be a message to Ashley that we need investment in January. However, it will once again go unheeded.

He should have learnt his lesson from the League Cup match against Forest (was it Forest? who ever), he was just as shit that day.

The only blank we have to fill in is how much money FMA gets for Tiote

The gap in quality between certain players is far too large. Whilst our first 11 (all fit) is good, their replacements simply aren't on the same level.

Marveaux, Taylor, Coloccini and Tiote are all top, top players. Take them out and you're going to struggle. Lose the likes of Guthrie and Williamson (who are at least capable enough) and you're in serious trouble.

That "2 players max" line Pardew came out with is simply not enough. We need at least 3, with reserve players making the step up to at least the bench.

Away game, threadbare defense and further injuries meant that a result here would be unlikely.

Hurts a bit to concede 4 goals after our defense has been arguably the best part of our game this season. I fear we will weaken the squad further rather than strengthen in January with one or two key players being sold and not replaced.

Hope our little slide down the table doesn't last long, however inevitable it was.

Who has a decent 4th (and 5th) choice CB in their squad ?? Serious question.

How many teams could cope without their top 3 CB's (without even mentioning the loss of Tiote/Guthrie in front of said CB's)
