It wasn't really a joke though was it Fish, it looked more like a point scoring exercise with the use of a disaster.

You can still read RAWK can't you? Thread is locked anyway  you'll find it under general football in the Flagpole Corner Forum.

It was clearly a joke and that you (and RAWK) can't see that, is further proof of your victim complex. I think it a little ludicrous that the people who sing heartily about a plane crash or Dead Leeds fans, and who are happy to bring their "brand of humour" to bear on anyone else, that those people have such a thin skin when it comes to anything coming their way is ludicrous.

I can't read RAWK, I got an IP ban for 1 (one) joke. Read this board, the volume of off colour jokes, offensive shit, or whatever and yet who's been banned? One repetitive tosser and a few racist cunts.

My point is that you Scousers gotta take yourself less seriously, ffs.

I don't take myself seriously at all, neither do I see that as a common trait in Scousers.

It was clearly not a joke to Rawkites, I can't say I saw anything funny in it either, it was quite insulting considering the way you went about it. RAWK's Spyin Kop has been going for many years and opposition fans have always responded in the spirit of friendliness, respect and good humour, much the same as LFC fans responded to you. They took you at face value and you were just having a little private joke with your buddies. You didn't exactly promote this site either.

I haven't heard the Munich song inside Anfield for years.

This victim complex you go on about is something I don't recognise in Scousers unless of course you're referring to standing up for ourselves and sticking together when we see things that are wrong, or wearing our hearts on our sleeves. We get accused of many things, but tbh I'm quite proud of the way we go about most things, and wouldn't,change anything about the Scouse character, I've yet to meet better.

Maybe you don't see it because you're on the inside looking in. Fake being a non-scouser and do a brief straw poll of other football sites, I'm 100% positive you'll find Scousers aren't held in the same esteem as you expect. Far from it.

Go on Chortle and do a brief search for Liverpool and see how much comedians hate playing scouse gigs.

I just don't get why a people, so widely derided and loathed, can think they're anything but?

Me Dad and Uncle were in the Navy and they've had a few trips to English ports. While they have nice things to say about the likes of Portsmouth, a caution or two is always thrown about whenever Liverpool is mentioned. Always wondered why to be honest. A lot of light has been shed on the matter though ever since I got interested in football and started browsing various fan sites etc across the net.

Oh, and on a side note Bangkok is also apparently full of thieving cheating shopkeepers to hear me dad go on about it. So fair warning if anyone ever visits there

Fish, what makes you think I'm in the least interested what other fans/people think of Scousers, it's irrelevant to me? I gave you my view of my fellow citizens, it won't change because some people hate/dislike us, in fact I find it quite amusing to see all that hate poured out (maybe that's what keeps me coming to this site) I don't hate anywhere or any people that much. I thank god I was born where I was, and am very, very proud to be a Scouser, and though there are lots of places in the UK that I love, none compare to Liverpool for me.

There are thousands upon thousands of visitors come here from all around the world, including the UK, and the vast majority always leave with a positive feeling, many can't wait to come back for a second visit.

Most comedians I've heard on the subject of Liverpool love it, even the likes of Alan Davies said he's always wanted to play The Liverpool Empire. Those that find it difficult aren't worth seeing anyway imo, I have seen comedians here who really aren't as funny as some of the hecklers, but there you go, we have no problem attracting them at all.

The reason comics go to Liverpool is because it's a big city. Trust me, if they could avoid those audiences, they would. The Hyena in Newcastle has a fucking terrible reputation and yet comics still went there. Why? Because the money is good and it was the only dedicated comedy club in Newcastle for a while. Why do comics play Jongleurs? Shitty drunk audiences who think they're funnier than the act? because of the money. Don't kid yourself that Liverpool audiences attract comics, the comedians go there despite them.

Basically, Scousers have an undeserved arrogance about them (which you reveal in your final paragraph beautifully) and that you all think you're great despite tomes of evidence to the contrary further proves why people think you're generally cunts.

Tell you what, I bet you £50 if a scouser came on here and made a crack about the West Ham fan that was set on fire by Newcastle Hooligans they'd not get immediately and permanently banned. You know why? because unlike scousers, most Brits can laugh at themselves.

I didn't say Liverpool audiences attract comedians, I'm under no illusions as to why they go travelling around the country, anywhere, it's the money. I meant we have no problem attracting entertainers to the city in general, some have been known to have come just because it's Liverpool, but to many others it's just a job. Liverpool has a history of being popular for 'famous' people, some come because of that. Comedians are near the bottom of the food chain and have to be good because I can go up the road to a pub and see better for free.

I like the arrogance and no-one here cares whether some anonymous poster on an internet forum thinks it deserved or not, or a whole host of anonymous internet posters. Shanks loved the arrogance and his thoughts are far more worthy than yours, or anyone else's for that matter. Yes, I think Scousers are great, I love being one, love working and socialising with them, and as already stated I thank god I was born one. If that doesn't suit your thinking then hard shite.

Oh ffs, you didn't go on there straightforwardly and make a 'joke', you wanted to get one over on them and did it in a sly way so that the insulting 'joke' could be enjoyed by yourself and those that knew, where's the 'two way' humour in that?

I've yet to see these Brits who laugh at themselves, never yet seen a Scot who laughed for being called tight, or an Irish man laugh because he's called thick, or Welsh for being sheep shaggers.

We'll have to agree to disagree now because it's become boring.

You've never watched Hancock, or Basil Fawlty, or Blackadder, or even David Brent?

I think the problem is that Scousers are great if you're a scouser, and bloodied tampons if you're not.
