Because the social media, peaceful protest route and so on is just screaming into the void. I’m completely checking out for the most part. It doesn’t make be feel particularly proud of myself but what are you going to do? And by that I mean subjecting yourself to the (frankly horrific) reality is just bad for you. The holier than thou social commentators constantly banging on about are basically just making a living off it too. I suppose I have just internalised this sense of 'if I'm not going to do anything about it, I have to force myself to watch' so that it's burned onto my soul in some form.
