"What an absolute ball ache trying to pick a hotel in Venice."

Not really - there's the Cipriani and the others..............

We're slumming it in the Gritti in March

Very nice. I opted for the Moresco in the end just because it was voted no 1 on tripadvisor so it must be ok.

I get the impression however that it matters little where you stay given the size of the place. I quite like the idea of a garden terrace to see off a few night caps before bed.

Duck pizza

Been to Alcudia the last couple years, the first time being the bairns first holiday abroad and it's been great. Mainly because of the apartments we stayed at, little one loved it.

Going all inclusive to Kardamena in Kos this year, will be there when the World Cup is on. :D Never been to Greece before (or on a flight over 2 and a bit hours) so really looking forward to it.

Not long now! Just booked up for Rhodes in 2015 too. :D

Let's hope technology has moved on. 1985 and the Kiwi's still using black & white telly.

As long as their ball is round...

I'll be taking the winter coat, that's for sure.

I'm off to stavagna in Norway for a long weekend in a couple of weeks to see the fjords.

Planning a late summer break somewhere warm. Undecided where yet. Anyone got any original suggestions? Looking for something fairly chilled - a bit of luxury that's also family friendly.

stavagna I know not - but if it's Stavanger........................

Not much to do in town other than the old town (10 minutes) and the Cathedral - fbulous scenery around mind

Don't even think of drinking and driving and they are very keen on breathalysing the morning after driver 'n aall

Make sure you load up with duty free booze..................

'Stavagna' is a Norwegian enclave and overseas Norwegian colony nestled near Bologna in Italy. :good:

Back from Turkey - landed 3am so a bit fucked and not a fan of 1am flights. Had a good holiday though, and can recommend the Marmaris Imperial hotel if anyone fancies a bit of all inclusive lazing about.

Unfortunately the same family of 8 tramps from Sunderland were on the return flight, as were on the outbound. Just the 5 kids with them as they left the 16 year old at home. Thankfully not at our hotel as there were no kids allowed, but what a bunch of animals. He got into an argument with the stewardesses on the way out and basically sat in a huff allowing his kids to run riot for 4 hours. They were a bit more subdued on the way back.

After the glamour of Dublin, Utrecht, Vilnius, Barcelona and Leuven in recent years, the vote (of course there's a vote) for this autumn's Eurovision fan forum pissup weekender is between Edinburgh and Bilbao. :scratchchin:
