RobElliott 2390
When i got the snip I arrived at the GP surgery and there were 2 rooms. As I waited my turn chaps were emerging from one fairly quickly. The other one just had the sounds of groans coming from it and nobody coming out of it. Trust my fucking luck that was the fella I had and wasnt long out of uni. 45 mins into the procedure I asked if he was nearly done and having difficulty getting the tubes pulled out to cut and he said he was still on the first one so he ended up getting the other doctor in the other room after I nearly fell off the table getting another injection of anaesthetic down there. Older chap came in and I translated his professional remark as "why the fuck are you cutting up so high?!"... 10 mins later the job was done after the older chap took over. Took a good 2-3 weeks for the pain to go down, still have swelling on that side... Apart from that it was grand.

Obvious question surely has to be: How fucking long ago did you go in for this? June? Earlier in the year? Last year?
RobElliott 2390
About 4 years ago. Swelling is like a varicocele or something like that. My gp reckons its been caused by the amount of fucking about in there the surgeon did on that side Edited July 28 by RobElliott

I got struck with testicular torsion in my early/mid 30's, which only lasted about a week but I'll still describe as the most excruciating pain I've ever felt in my life (collapsed lungs and broken bones don't even register on the same scale). Four years of living with a swollen bollock after a botched surgery I'd probably be actively seeking out and trying to make friends with eunuchs with the ultimate goal of making contact with their surgeon. It's one of the many procedures I've had to deal with my sore bollock. They just insert a tiny coil of metal into a vein way upstream from your bollock. I don't even recall whether there was any anaesthetic at all, I don't think so. Anyway, it basically stops the flow of blood to that fucked vein and that's the end of the swelling and discomfort. Howmanheyman 43923
Finally had some response to my visions/déjà vu episodes I've had, (haven't had any for months), anyway, nothing on the EEG scan and the only thing on the MRI was enlargement of fluid lakes in the brain which everyone has apparently has but mine's a bit bigger than they'd expect. However, he says this wouldn't explain my symptoms, he's going to get an opinion from a neurosurgeon but other than that, carry on regardless. Soooo, it must just be superpowers after all then. I knew it all along tbh. 3 1

wykikitoon 28533
If it is frontal lobal epilepsy they may never see anything on scans etc. but with this it maybe something that's causing it. Hopefully they'll get you under control anyways
Gemmill 63171
Great news that there's nothing physical on the scans btw. I assume that rules out the worst case scenarios? Hope they find out what it is though, although I'd sooner hope you just never have another episode.

Craig 12372
Sailed through the first month of being teetotal over the weekend. Been largely plain sailing, there was only one point in the month where I found it quite difficult. Absolutely no mental health crisis episodes during that time so clearly is the right decision for me.

I'm doing everything I did before, but just not having alcohol. Currently on a journey exploring the Alcohol Free world - there's a lot of awful stuff out there, but there's some good quality AF beers. People around me had vowed they'd not drink alcohol in my presence, but I told them I don't want that - this is my issue, not theirs and I don't want people changing their behaviour just to appease me. I wouldn't appreciate it. Back to the AF stuff, there's a hole in the market IMO about the discovery of what is out there - if they did an equivalent of a beer club for AF stuff where you subscribe and are sent x amount of beers per month to sample, I think the acceptance of AF would be far better. I'm going to struggle at times, and this will be points I reach out here for kind words I guess, but right now ... I'm enjoying the lack of hangovers, and certainly the quite serious episodes I was having.
wykikitoon 28533
Nice one Craig. It's a big step in a long journey. Lucky Strike is a decent AF beer. The Guinness AF is great.
Craig 12372
Yeah Guinness Zero is unbelievably good but I can only do so much stout - definitely need a decent lager too. Are you on about Lucky Saint? If so, tried that and it's good however it's unbelievably gassy and plays havoc with me
wykikitoon 28533
Aye aren't Lucky Strike cigs? Yeh Lucky Saint. You're right actually they are well gassy, its probably why I only have a couple at most and feel full.
