Had the flu vaccine three weeks ago and I'm completely bunged up, fucked, coughing etc, I can only imagine what I'd have been like if I hadn't had it? Last year due to circumstances I didn't get the vaccine and I was completely floored at Christmas, (I still don't know how I managed to make the dinner but had no choice really).

If you even dream of being as cheeky again I'll come around and tan your arse even if I have to disturb a slumbering Callum. :cuppa:

I’m not entitled to the flu vaccine because I’m neither:

a. Geriatric

b. an invalid

Anyone can get it man. You book an appointment at Boots. Our work does vouchers so we get it for nowt but it's only 25 quid or something.

Well she's getting better as I've had a bollocking for not stacking the dishwasher full enough and turning it on.

'its a waste'

Oh but you put ONE fucking jumper in to wash because it's fucking delicate.

Okay, just found out that my dad died yesterday.  Had a fairly distant (not just mileage) relationship for many years, but have been in touch more recently, via cards and letters.  I hope we had reached some understanding.  Apparently diagnosed with ameloid myeloma on 8 October and obviously went quite quickly.

Not quite sure how I feel, because of the strained relationship, but feeling more down than I anticipated.  He had just turned 97 and got his driver's licence for another 3 years (which is obviously a bit scary), and was expecting to see that out, so even though he was a tremendous age, it has rather come out of the blue.

:(

Sorry for your loss Robin but what an innings and to still be able to drive at 97!

Born the same year as Mickey Mouse, the discovery of penicillin, John Logie Baird was sending the first TV pictures across the Atlantic and the invention of sliced bread.

Sorry for your loss Robin. Feeling down about it is more than expected irrespective of how your relationship with him was - perhaps more so.

Went for the Flu jab yesterday. Went to a pharmacy near me. Told em I had an exemption card. Asked my condition. Told me 'nah mate that's not exempt' so I queried why at their other pharmacy I haven't paid for the last two years. Got told 'they have it wrong, you need a card'

'oh like the card I have in my hand and you're just ignoring it'

Anyways. Had it and did a 8km run last night because I'm nails 😎

Sorry for your loss, Robin, and for whatever it was that put the strain on your relationship in the first place. As others have said, hope you get some comfort from having managed to build a bridge or two back again near the end.
