Other Games 14/15 - Football fans feel the same about stuff, except stuff like Western Sydney Wanderers, because no one gives a shit about them.

Aye, but you know these days I prefer watching a game involving lower spanish/german division teams to say something involving the likes of Villa/West Brom or other teams from the premier league. Usually more skill on display even if the atmosphere isnt as good.

Again, that's because you're sick of watching Villa/West Brom, just as you'd be sick of watching Almeria, or Nice, or Hamburger if you'd watched them for years.

Maybe, but I do think the latter teams have better 'technical' players, pass around the ball better etc which makes them a more appealing prospect for me. Does depend on the situation too of course. I'd be watching Villa v West Brom if it was deciding who's going down no matter how crap the football.

I agree that the European elite are better than the English elite. But they're not indicative of their leagues in general.

Yup.

Personally couldn't care less what the "best" league is. Don't get the obsession some have with the Premier League being seen as "the best league in the world" (mainly in the media).

Steven Gerrard quite correctly sent off 45 seconds into the second half having just come on against man u after the commentators were gushing about him dragging liverpool up and getting the last say on the liverpool/man u derby before he leaves.

The commentators only comparison of Gerrard getting sent off in his last game v man u is Zidane getting sent off in the World Cup final. Aye, that's EXACTLY what I was thinking too.

Aye, so far they've blamed the Man U fans for being mean and Brendan Rodgers for not starting him for Gerrard getting sent off

The way it's made out he deserves this fairytale ending is so far from the actual feelings of most fans it's untrue

Theme of the whole of last season too, when we all wanted Liverpool to win the title against the odds. I think the media would be genuinely baffled as to why people were creased up laughing at the Gerrard slip and the collapse against Palace. Total disconnect.
