wykikitoon 23989
Last day in Tuscany today. Fucking superb place. Ive got two canny bike rides in. Decided last week I would do a 160 ride today. Then yesterday saw the temp was 32 and decided to fuck that off 😂 got a nice 100km in though. What a stunning part of Italy. People are great, history and architecture is mind blowing. The scenery is something else and there is fanny of the highest level. Bellisimo. 3

Places like On The Beach and even through the likes of Jet2 and TUI themselves are still fucking daft money for what look like bog standard hotels. You may as well go long haul, all inclusive for your summer jollies these days I've just done a week all inclusive in Lara Beach. £2k for the 3 of us. Hotel was lovely and the food was good too. 25c every day.
Meenzer 16880
How did you find all-inclusive as a non-drinker? I've thought about it before but I wondered if it might feel like a bit of a waste

We've all got young kids. I drank plenty of fresh orange with breakfast, Coke Zero by the pool, copious amounts of bottled water and the odd chocolate milkshake on an evening There was an ice cream parlour, waffle house, pizza restaurant, burger restaurant etc where you could fill your boots during the day though! When I did all-inclusive about 7 years ago in Cyprus with my family I had about 4 pints all week alcohol wise. But had loads of coffee and sprite 😂 absolutely smashed it on that front 🥳
Alex 38027
What actually also put me off is the food was superb last year so I ate about 3x more than I needed to. Had a similar experience on a 12 night med cruise about 15 years ago where I walked loads (there was a stop at a port almost every day) went to the gym every morning plus sometimes in the afternoon and still put on about a stone

Spend 2 months shifting 3 Kg of lumber, then wreck it over the course of a week on holiday! I'm on "holiday" in Glasgow today, for family reasons. Just realised it's the old firm game. Fuck sticks, hope these knackers don't stray into the West End.
wykikitoon 23989
Another thing I remember that all-inclusive was how people wasted food because of the buffet and the 'well I paid for it' attitude. I was once at a hotel on holiday where it was a buffet breakfast and I saw an English lass go up get a smallish plate of stuff, take two mouth full of food and put the plate to one side. Then she did that another couple of times. I hate food waste and just shook my head. One of the waiting staff saw me and agreed and had a word with her

The usual game of telling me where she doesn’t want to go, which seems to be 90% of the planet but being unable to give me any clues where she does want to go. At this rate, it’ll be a week in Blackpool

Obviously the mean temps are going to be warmer but it’s a mountainous region of the UK. But probably not a bad shout at that time of year. Worth noting though that the Scots (iirc) have all of July (rather than August) off for their kids summer hols so they’re back at school early / mid August. Although you obviously get lots of English visitors. Beginning of September might not be a bad shout either. You will get A LOT of daylight in June too.
