Ineos are in talks with UEFA and are "confident" everything will be fine, but I'll direct you to Ratcliffe's confidence that they would get Ashworth for a song. If UEFA don't take a stand here, then this rule basically goes in the bin and it won't be long before clubs under the same ownership are playing one another in semi finals, with all the controversy that would bring. It would be hilarious after ALL THE HARD WORK Erik has done and then Sir Jim single handedly gets them demoted to another competition.

We’re only a Villa disqualification due to their fans abysmal accent away from the CL group stages tbh It would make sense, especially as Chelsea are now only in the conference. Are they actually allowed to do that though? I.e. you’d think there’d be sanctions
ewerk 39291
You're invited to join European competitions aren't you? I don't think there's an obligation to play in them.
ewerk 39291
Also, what's happening with Man City and Girona both being in the CL next season?

Plus it’s not like the financial benefit of playing in the conference league would do anything to help their shitty financial performance since Abramovich left so it’s almost a lose / lose for them. Ah well, we’ll take that problem off their hands.

Dazzler 16216
Kompany announced as Bayern manager. SSN felt the need to point out that Alonso, Nagelsmann and Rangnick all knocked them back and that's the only reason he got the job

Isegrim 11896
They will also make sure that Newcastle will only face top clubs away from home. There will also be extra time if Liverpool et al are just two goals down after 90 minutes.

Howmanheyman 43974
I once had a dirt cheap subscription for the athletic for basically nothing for the first few months. I cancelled way before I needed to. It was pretty poor I thought, and some of the stuff I've seen in the last couple of years it looks like it's only gotten worse.
Kid Dynamite 9342
Didn't 777 loan Everton £200mil to keep them afloat? What happens to that now?

Gemmill 63312
That is genuinely mind blowing that they've made that goal of the tournament. It's just a breakaway goal and he looks like he scuffs the finish too. If Plymouth Argyle score that goal, it's not even getting in the top 50.

ewerk 39291
I don't get all this wanking over Cole Palmer. Yes, he's a good player and has 22 goals and 11 assists this season but 9 of those goals were penalties. If you take those away then he's had a marginally better season than Anthony Gordon but to listen to the media you'd think he's the second coming of Messi.
