Why isn't this breaking front page news and called a terrorist incident?

Because the Queen of the Bonkbusters has died and she was posh, so we all need to hear how good she was from her posh mates.

You’ll have forgotten about these two next week, but no one, absolutely no one, will forget Jilly the smut peddler.

I quite like him despite his comedy. He’s actually a pretty good actor. That’s ridiculous for all sorts of reasons though. Although I suspect it’s more of an instrument to stimulate debate than a genuine aspiration. How would all black British people qualify anyway though? There will be those with African heritage who can’t prove (or will have) any link to the slave trade.

I mean, far be it from me, the middle aged white bloke, to be the arbiter on this but stuff like that seems really unhelpful in the current climate.

It's just another stick for the flagshaggers to beat minorities with.

He was in a one-off drama years ago as an ex-junkie running a football team and he was absolutely outstanding imo - never understood why he didn't really pursue serious stuff after that.

England has never come to terms wuth it's colonial past, and it's the root of the exceptionalism which stops us moving forward as a nation

I really liked him in that tv film, which I think he also wrote, where he played a character based on his own father

I thought that last bit was because we keep inexplicably voting in Tory wankers who decimate the state whilst lining their pockets?

And Lenny Henry proposing fantastical notions that are completely unworkable and will never happen is the way to move things forward?

As Alex said it's more of a starting point for debate than anything else. It's a debate that too many people won't even countenance unfortunately. (Thats not a dig at you btw)

You can see why he's so angry at everyone and everything tbh, I would if I had a face like that, a face that would truly make an onion cry.
