Some talk of it being Eddie, but it's all speculation at this stage.

Can't imagine the club will leave it long before announcing interim roles else every sodding press opportunity is going to involve the same questions being repeatedly asked.

So allegedly Wolves are going to reject Man United's approach for Cunha as his release clause stipulates the £62.5m has to be paid in three installments over a 2 year period whereas they're only able to pay it over a 5 year period.

Don't they now wish they'd not blown stupid money on utter shit for years on end?!

All that's missing here is Jim Bowen with an arm round the shoulders of Amorim & Ratcliffe walking them away with the immortal words "Have a look at what you could have won..."

Great, smashing, super!

I think there's way too much focus on the 2 incidents he was involved him during the season. Take them out of the equation and he's been a sensation in a pretty shit Wolves team.

He has a spiky temperament, but then mercurial talents often do. Cantona was an absolute cunt, but we'd all have given our right arm for him to have been in our team during the mid 90s. Souness and Keane are other examples of players been brilliant, but of questionable temperament.

The likes of him need decent management - much like Ferguson played that role for Cantona, Eddie Howe could do that for Cunha. That combined with having 2 fellow Brazilians at the club, one of which is team captain and he could settle right in.

Far from dodging a bullet, I fear he could well end up being the edgy player who got away from us.

Listening to the Rest is football poddy it's not just this season he's had issues though.  But yeh, it could take a Howe to sort him out.

It's quite funny though, 'a pretty shite Wolves team' that finished above Man Utd.

Yep I know but Cantona is valid example of a player who has attitude issues but when he's managed right it just all comes together.

I'm sure Ginola had, to a lesser extent, similar issues before he signed for us as well.

It's hard to feel too disapointed about players we're linked with signing for man u (aside from that fact that we are linked with everyone, so anyone man u signs we will have been linked with). They'll offer double the wages we will, and a longer contract - with no guarantee that they will continue performing once they've got it (as man u fans should know only too well).

For me, there's not much value in signing the overpriced obvious players from the premier league (your Cunhas and Mbeumos etc). Let the stupidy rich clubs blow their powder on those. Our best signings have been quality youngsters from abroad with the right personality (Bruno, Isak, Tonali), or younsters from the premier league where the opportunity was too good to ignore (Hall, Livromento). I'd be happy with a few more signings along those lines, even if it means we don't cover all the obvious gaps in the squad (backup ST, RW competition for Murphy, pacy CB etc) this window.

Hopefully an opportunity or two will come from other team's PSR troubles. Or someone at the club (but not Mitchell!?) has eyes on a few from overbroad I've never heard of. Don't care if they don't immediately go into the first team - but hopefully they have the potential to be imprortant players in the next few years for us.

It's a fair point but it also comes down to what Howe wants. He's the only person holding all of this together at the moment, if he wanted them then we should be committing to his project. I appreciate that we don't know for sure that he did, of course.

Something has gone tits up to be sacking the dof on the eve of the window opening. My theory is Eddie didn’t agree with Mitchell’s recruitment strategy and said as much to Al-Rumayyan on Sunday. Eddie holds all the cards after securing champions league and a trophy with zero backing. PIF backed him, jettisoned Mitch and Eddie is our dof this summer

If only everyone else had come up with that theory, eh?

That lad looks pretty decent on the standard YouTube scouting ive just done... looks like a Brighton type signing. If we picked someone up like him on the cheap it could be a good risk.

Playing style seems to be like Gordon

No idea. Posting from Mallorca. Haven’t been on the board much so no clue what the consensus is. It’s all speculation.

Yep.

Ayatollah eloquently made reference to that earlier on.

I beg to differ. I think Gemmill routinely offers the board wonderful insight into exactly what isn’t happening, hasn’t happened or is not going to happen.

Can I remind you of this when you inevitably start wanging on about RW being our absolute priority this summer? :dunno:

I’ll stop saying we need a RW when Gemmill stops predicting Everton will be relegated.
