We were never with naming it this year anyway if we’re being honest. The cup run was worth it for putting the mackems well and truly in their place. Not to mention the incredibly rare sight of us winning a penalty shootout.

Last time we won a penalty shootout in a cup run we made the final - it was a massive 12 months ago  - we are still in the running until we're out of the cup (which will most likely be at the Etihad but still).

Not sure why we always seem to think the only chance we have of winning a trophy is to get the most favourable draw possible?

So the narrative is we need to get Coventry at home in this round, Wolves in the semi and then Leicester in the final?

Man City away isnt ideal but bring it on. Lets get stuck into them.

Aye. We're facing either Man City or Liverpool at some point in proceedings. They'll be completely in their game in the final, so let's play them sooner rather than later.

Yes and no.

We eliminated Man City (and Man United) out of the league cup making it easier for Liverpool to win. You'd rather get a kinder fixture and hope two of the better teams draw each other thus making it less likely you're going to get two really hard fixtures instead of possibly one. I guarantee you Liverpool would've been happy seeing us beat Man City knowing it greatly improved their chances.

A home draw vs Man City would have been nicer, and I doubt a good number of reserves will be in for them in the FA Cup like they were in the league cup so that adds to the difficulty level of the draw but we're still in it until we're not - We've still got a punchers chance of going through. Though our form lately, this could be the punch in question:

There's is literally zero indication that the club is looking to peddle Howe at any point - it's fucking mental how much the media is trying to put pressure on the bloke - No wonder he looks like he's aged 10 years in the last few months.

Visual representation of how fucking boring English football is these days. 5 clubs have won 38 out of the 40 available domestic trophies over the past decade.

Where'd you find that? I like it

For what it's worth Atletico, Barcelona and Real Madrid have won 28 of the last 33 domestic trophies. (23 going to Barcelona or Real Madrid)

Bayern have won 27 of the last 33 German domestic trophies.

PSG have won 25 of the last 33 French domestic trophies.

When you look how at shite Man Utd were and are I still find it hard to digest we lost to them in the final. Really was a golden opportunity.

Stuff we've all accepted as truth before isn't it? Difficult to expand the current site, and difficult to do it without ending up more patchwork than it is already. Best options within the city to move to are Arena site, and Leazes Park and both of those come with their own challenges and obstacles.

My preference would be Leazes Park. Keeps the stadium at the top of the hill, you could knock down St James' and turn it into a park to replace the greenery lost by building in Leazes.

Financially, developing the Arena site would likely bring more money to part of the city that could do with investment, and a stadium on the Tyne could be iconic in it's own way (and would be easier to expand further at a later date?
