Just listening to our stats over the past 20 matches - only Liverpool getting more points - that’s the fundamental difference between Keegan’s Newcastle and Howe’s Newcastle for me;

 

Keegan’s sides would start the season with a bang and tend to run out of steam in the latter stages - even in the 92/93 season we tailed off; by contrast Howe’s sides start off steady and simply get stronger and stronger!

Tim Sherwood on Villa's transfers: 'No one has had a better January than that ever'.  They signed two players on loan who have five goals and four assists between them. 

 

Maybe he wants to take a look at Newcastle January 2022 for a better window.

that’s not entirely fair. The question was if we do finish second, do we have the second best squad?
 

I think most of us would say we don’t and it’s an amazing season if we qualify for the CL, let alone finish second, after winning a cup.
 

Sherwood said as much, paying tribute to the job Howe has done. It is an incredible achievement by Howe if we finish above Arsenal, Chelsea and Villa when you compare the squad quality and levels of investment in recent seasons

Sherwood really is a shocking pundit like.

 

So Sky and co are finally waking up to us a little bit but it's always loaded with questioining undertones in their voices as if they hope and believe we'll fall off soon. Not happening fuckers. We're top 4 total points wise over the last 3 seasons or so and as much as you cant fathom it wont be losing our best players.
