I mean what the fuck was I supposed to say to that? condolences?

Renton 27805
1 hour ago, Monkeys Fist said: It was my local for much of my youth, until it got converted in to Stereo, I think. Absolute belter of a bar, proper mixed crowd, and served the best No.3 in the city. Also, shouts to the Dog and Parrot, Egypt Cottage, the Doll, Free Trade, the Trent, and the Forth before it turned shit. I've literally made that list in my post yesterday man hey man. And the Barley Mow became the Fog and Firkin before it became stereos. Am assuming you remember old George Vickers and his harmonica? First time I ever went to the Barley Mow it was a lovely summer evening and I remember the Smiths 'There is a light' blaring out from the juke box. Was probably 16, felt like I'd finally arrived home. As you say, great crowd until Firkin firked it.

But, I’ve found myself in The Lost Wanderer up near the ground or Mean Eyed Cat just off Percy Street if you want some wank sounding Pilsner that just tastes like any other lager. The latter is a bit “quirky” like and not as funny as it seems to think it is but the alternatives are so much worse, it doesn’t even help to think about it. Rosie’s is still the same old bar but it’s that fucking busy, it’s not even worth trying. Town in general seems to be fucking dead when it’s not a match day. Not that I go very often these days

Craig 12389
Interesting take on the stadium situation. The match day revenue projections would suggest the decision for the long-term is surely a no-brainer.
Dr Gloom 26379
nice vid but doesn't say anything new. every time this thread is bumped i get my hopes up there is some news at last on the stadium. first we were rumoured to be getting an announcement in early 2025, then by the end of last season. now? fuck knows

I think with Silverstone going and the arrival of pretty much a whole new C-suite we're not going to get any answers in the timeframe previously suggested. That said, I think the important part to take from that video is the comment that it's pretty much a given that things cannot remain as they are - a change (of some description) is coming soon. Craig 12389
With Eales and Silverstone, in particular, departing we'd be naive to expect the timetable for decision making not to pause somewhat. A solution will have to be found though - we've reached capacity - both in terms of getting fans before the game, and the commercial revenue. They're going to need to invest to push that agenda. Monkeys Fist 50769
I’d settle for nothing less than St. James Minge. Given our climate, we’d need close-able piss(ing-down) flaps.

thebrokendoll 14296
they aren't building a new stadium. PIF would rather spunk the money on salah and his wages for the next 3 years.
