I'm all for giving players time to bed in but Elanga has shown absolutely nothing so far. He looks none of the threat that he was at Forest

Not sure what's happened to him but it wouldn't be exaggerating to say Almiron offered more to the team than Elanga had so far. I'm not writing him off, but he's easily the most disappointing of our summer signings

Now I wonder whether Howe changes up our tactics for the secpnd half. He was hoping for counter attack with us sitting back, it's why we didn't press up the pitch and why we started with Elanga and Gordon. Trying to exploit their slow central defense.

It could have worked, there were a couple of times where we broke after forcing turnovers, one in particular where Gordon was in acres of space but Elanga and then Wolte couldn't find him.

Don’t think Tino is having his best days for us. Sloppy passing and a few defensive mistakes.

Aye, but also struggling to think of anyone that's been good. Bruno and Miley have been okay, Thiaw solid as always. Yet we've looked comfortable for the most part.

A bit of confidence and composure in the final third is needed from somewhere.

Hall has been good. Bruno too.

Low quality, especially from us but tbh not sure what else you'd want from a derby...seagull botherers well up for it and are creating a formidable atmosphere. After the first 15 I think we've stood up well to it. Not too worried atm, they haven't really looked like scoring despite being the better side.  Remember what we're trying to achieve this season and the number of games we're playing. Its not great but it ok. That will have to do. Wouldn't be surprised if Burn has broken a rib amd Neville is a fuckin arsehole for suggesting it wasn't a booking

We've been poor in the execution but you can see that the gameplan is correct, I reckon.

Aye, Sunderland are playing a high line. Our plan is to use Gordon and Elanga on the break. Failing atm because we can't string 3 passes together.

Totally agree. Think it's a case of saving energy given midweek 90mins for most of these.

Then bring on some firepower to finish the game off.

By the way, these two (Carragher and Micah) are a pair of tits. How can that not be a second yellow? Lunacy.
