RobinRobin 14502 Posted October 2 Share Posted October 2 Thanks all. Missus seems to be okay although I think there's plenty of tears especially when everyone is so kind. He was was a regular at our local football club and there's been a huge outpouring of love there as well. Found out he had pancreatitis which fucked his kidneys and liver. Went from a mad bugger to dead in just a few days. Come home to a florist shop which nearly set me off. 🙂 Every now and then I see or think about something and the tears well up. We were all saying at another mate's dad's funeral only a few months ago how the old crew only seem to meet up at funerals and we should do something about it, one of the people saying it then has now lost his wife and so the next time I'll see him again will be his lass's funeral. It's sad really and something that you never realise when you're younger is how it is when you get older, you imagine old people losing friends and family like old people from our youth, blokes with flat caps and wife's with tea coseys on their heeds, not still youngish people like ourselves? It's shit but he's pain free. That's what happened to my cat. Went from perfectly healthy to dead in a week. I had to leave him at the vets, vomiting but basically otherwise seeming OK, and the next time I saw him was to get him put down, and by then he was deathly ill. It was fucking horrendous. And the person who got injured and the deceased were trying to keep the synagogue doors closed to prevent the attacker from gaining access. Condolenses HMHM. No condolences needed for me, really, just sad for a seldom seen lad who we used to drink with/go to aways/have the odd lads holiday with. I haven't seen his missus for about ten years and that was passing in a hospital. I've never seen him where he hasn't laughed, there's a first time for everything. Also I know loads of people on here and 'in real life', (don't worry, I'm not insinuating you are all bots!), who have struggled with elderly parents/relatives etc and lost them and I'm only too aware mine are at that age so sometimes feel like I'm waiting for the rapid decline.
