  1. Past hour
  2. As the Earth orbits the Sun at a greater speed than the Voyager 1 and 2 spacecraft travel, it means that there is a period each year, when their distance from the Earth is actually decreasing. Even though the annual mean distance from us increases all the time. There’s a similar thing happens with the average age on here every time Quiff signs up
  3. Out for the season by the sounds of it.
  4. It fucking sphinx and I couldn't cairo less.
  5. How does he have the media in his hands? What is the viewership of GB news? We are not in the same situation as the states. He's been off the hook so far because he's not been seen as a genuine threat, more a curiosity. Labour have been happy to let him eat the Tories, which is where the large majority of his support come from. Natural right wingers. But Farage is inexorably linked to Trump and is on record as saying he wants to scrap the NHS. People might not know this yet, but they will. And you are completely underestimating the SHEER incompetence of Reform representatives and their capacity for self destruction. This isn't wishful thinking on my behalf, I just can't see any scenario where a party led by Farage can achieve a majority. He is blatantly not in. Most people's interests. It ain't happening and a by election result and a few council seats aren't stopping that. But at the moment, its as pointless trying to predict 4 years in advance in poliltics as it isti predict what position NUFC will be in then.
  6. Looks like Reform are about to take over Durham County Council.
  7. Darren Grimes has finally won elected office! Reform took both seats in Annfield Plain & Tanfield.
  8. Bilbao to win leg 2 and then the final, setting up a fairytale reunion with us in the Champions Leaygue strengthening our bond and basque in the inevitable tears from Mordor 😀
  9. Mate, the Americans elected Donald Trump twice. Farage absolutely is electable to the Great British public. We can pretend that us and the Americans think differently but the vast majority of fuckwits do not. I had to tell people at work yesterday, who went out to vote Reform, that they were only local elections and not a general one ffs. These people will go out in force when the election rolls around and vote for Reform whenever Farage tells them to. They believe him and he has the media in his hands. It’s fucking dangerous and people need to realise. He’s practically fucking Teflon
  10. I dunno. Plenty of examples where popularism has been over turned without resorting to combating fire with fire. Look at Canada. We've got to resist the descent into a post truth world otherwise what's the point? Policy needs to be evidenced based. Those countries that adopt this perspective will inevitably be more successful imo. Conversely, the US is about to demonstrate how damaging political incompetence and corruption is.
  11. I still think they might edge it, but it's going to be a close call. I've had a close eye on them for obvious reasons and whilst they've got a solid XI, their squad is paper thin. They've barely been troubled with injuries until now and Aina is a big miss for them - his link up play with Elanga has been immense.
  12. It's a spot on point. I think tactically Labour wait it out. There is a long, long time before the GE, who knows what will happen by then. The US will have an election first for one thing (2 with the mid terms). Reform and the Tories might unite. If they go with Farage, there is plenty of ammunition from what he's said and done in the past to throw at him. I genuinely believe he is not electable.
  13. Agreed. For the life of me, I just don't get how the right have made the culture war an important issue. Who the fuck cares about it from a political pov? The only thing that matters to me is economics in its broader sense including provision of public serves, taxation, and addressing wealth inequality. And add a few foreign affairs into the pot.
  14. Today
  15. 40! Young whipper snapper. Honestly, you'd be regarded as old in my previous workplace. I was literally in the top 5% by age at 54. The only person older than me in the Newcastle team was made redundant and I got the unenviable title of office grand dad. Not as bad in my new place but am still relatively ancient.
  16. More like, "Kids? Kids!!!!"
  17. I have actually occasionally thought about this, since this place seems to be a lifetime commitment. I think it'd be very sad, but I'd be grateful for the shared experience over the years. Besides, I'm sure I'd not be long on anyone's heels, almost 40 myself now.
  18. It’s like a working man’s club. Now and again some of the young’uns who are barred elsewhere come in, but mainly it’s the same ageing old farts. What will you do @Rayvinwhen it’s just an echo….
  19. We've nailed the bust part at least. All time world champions at this point IMO.
