  1. Past hour
  2. Different eras are difficult to compare too. He was undoubtedly the best player on the planet for a good few years in the 80s as well. For me the thing with Pele that sets him apart is he was the complete all round player. Two-footed and could do everything superbly well. I think him and Maradona are on a different plane to the rest so far as the twentieth century goes though
  3. I will HOCKLE on your purple hoodie.
  4. i never saw pele play live, so i can't really compare them. i vividly remember watching maradona in 86 - even then, as a kid, it seemed like he was playing a different game to everyone else. would that argie team won it without him in 86? i doubt it. they really weren't that good in italia 90 and somehow he dragged them to the final. i'm convinced england would have won it had they got past ze germans.
  5. I think they’d call an election now if they thought it was that tight. They won’t because they don’t but it’ll just be the latest in their series of “if we keep repeating it, people might start to believe it”. Although the current lot are much shitter at that than Johnson and co were. I’m also not sure how it even works as a tactic. They’re so unpopular I can only see it motivating people who might have otherwise been complacent to vote for whoever has the best chance of winning against them in their area. It’s also another sign of how completely desperate them and their allies in the right wing press are
  6. fuck's sake man. gemmill single handedly ensuring we finish 8th here.
  7. Nah, all made on jest. For the record I actually like Gemmill, he WAS one of my favourite posters on this board. Not sure he feels the same about me mind
  8. They basically paid £70m (or whatever it was) for one decent season
  9. Apart from this being utter bollocks and about as detached from reality as it's possible to get, how these fuckers have the nerve after "chaos with Ed Miliband" is quite beyond me.
  10. Nobody has ever won a World Cup single-handedly and that includes Maradona in 86. The side were decent and got better with each game. That is not to say he didn’t have a fantastic tournament but he had a quiet final (despite the assist for the winner). I just think it’s a disservice to his teammates to suggest he won it in his own. He was undoubtedly the player of the tournament but no more influential in the win than Rossi four years earlier. Personally I regard him as (comfortably) the second best player of the last century. I don’t even think there should be much debate over Pele being better.
  11. Calm down MICRO COCK, I never said I was remotely concerned about those turds overtaking us. I just pointed out that it's still a slight possibility so better to keep schtum instead of blowing your own trumpet before the seasons concluded. Also, as I've now proved TWICE, I too can pull off caps lock posts with aplomb so you no longer have the monopoly on that stylistic choice.
  12. I mean I don't know how well he handled himself there, he just kept getting completely splattered. He was game though.
  13. i mean, howay. look at what he did - the bloke singlehandedly won a world cup for Argies, and took them close to a second, won Seria A twice for Napoli - all while playing on pudding pitches, with defenders kicking the shit out of him and while charged up off his tits. could handle himself too
  14. Listen CHEESEDICK. Only I can pull of the caps lock posts, and it's indicative of your DISMAL outlook that you are remotely concerned about these overtaking us. You are now the only person on here with TWO apologies to make. Let's hope we don't end up with more.
  15. Given there's 3 games left, they can still MATHEMATICALLY finish above us and we're STILL TO PLAY these knackers, I think your blowing your own dick a little early here. Impressive feat given your circumstances mind, so kudos for that but still. PS. I Gemmill'd up my statement with some ALL CAPS words (ooh I did it again!) just for you
  16. Today
  17. Seeing as we're talking about bad predictions...
  18. He just looked like he was made to play football, Maradona.
  19. For people who like to push the "OMG ANOTHER BAD PREDICTION" fake news. This one was met with... "We NEVER finish above them!" Apologise below if you want, or just PM me if it's too much for you to do it publicly.
  20. It was £400 but an extra £1100 per ST holder in January to pay for the decorators to come in and do out the Black Cats Bar ahead of the derby.
  21. Yeah they’ve been hugely inconsistent so far this season. Forest would appear to be their hardest game but I wouldn’t bet against a highly motivated Bournemouth either 🤷🏻‍♂️
  22. Brighton are still decent at home. If we can get 7 points, Chelsea have to win all their remaining games and I can’t see it tbh
