We'd barely sign anyone though if the criteria was "NO PRICKS ALLOWED". Whilst I think Bellamy is a decent player he is a bigger prick than most. We don't need a player who's going to try and break him team mate's legs with a golf club, or throw a chair at the assistant manager or demand a first team place. The are equally good players with less attitude problems available for the same or less money who I would prefer over Bellamy.

The situation with Owen and with those players is completely different. Firstly those players combined didn't cost 1/3 of what Owen cost us, they aren't picking up the same huge pay packet every week and most importantly they haven't got the same uncertainty hanging over them. I think it's very clear from Shepherd's and Sam's comments that Owen clearly wants away from Newcastle and his lack of comments on the matter speaks volumes, it would be nice for him to let us know one way or another and to see some loyalty after the poor return we've had from him so far.

I don't give a flying fuck if playing for Newcastle is the last thing he wants to do as long as he's scoring goals. Yes it would be nice to have a player who really wants to play for the club but in this day and age they are few and far between.

As Manc Mag says, once he's on the pitch he is 100% committed, we can't fault him on that count. However we do need the situation sorted out sooner rather than later because we can't go into the new season with the uncertainty as to whether out best player is still going to be here hanging over us.
