Michael Owen signs to 'Pro Evo 2008' Monday, July 23 2007, 11:31 BST By David Gibbon, Gaming Reporter Japanese publisher Konami has announced it has secured the services of striker Michael Owen, who will now appear on the packaging of Pro Evolution Soccer 2008. The Newcastle and England star joins winger Cristiano Ronaldo, who will also appear on the box of the forthcoming game, while both footballers will also take part in the title's marketing campaign. "Securing Michael Owen is a real coup for Konami," commented PES Team Leader at Konami Jon Murphy. "Since he burst on to the scene, he has proven himself an incredible goal-scorer, netting at every level both domestic and international. We are delighted to be working alongside such a talent." "PES 2008 is a fantastic game, and the only choice for pro players," added Owen. "It enjoys a brilliant reputation within many, many players and manages to be a true simulation of football while also being a real laugh to play. I look forward to working closely with Konami in the run up to launch, and being a key part of its development." The signing is the latest football star to join the gaming ranks, with EA recently announcing that Brazil legend Ronaldinho will appear on the packaging of FIFA 08. Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 will be released for PS3, PS2, PSP, Xbox 360, PC and DS this autumn.

Agreed, its a superb film.

I know what you mean about Lewis, as good as I think he was I don't think he reached his physical potential, as for his oposition, I think its a bit unfair, apart from Riddick Bowe, he boxed and beat every top heavyweight of his era, although you could argue the quality of heavyweights weren't that great at that time in comparision to other eras, but even so he beat Holyfield, Tyson, Ruddock, Klitchko, thats not a bad CV in my mind, but I would have LOVED to have seen him fight Bowe.
-
The boy's a bit special, but then again so was that lad Sonny Pike a few years back, where's he now ?
-
Agreed, Tyson was fantastic at his peak, but his peak was pretty short, Lewis dominated the division for longer and was a better all-round fighter, but I'd put Holyfield up their also, both deserve to be mentioned with the greats.

I'd rather this money was being spent on a left back.

Happy Birthday mate !

Just watching this on CNN and SKY News, RIP to those who lost their lives

Caution for TV bottom pinch man A man who pinched a Channel 4 News presenter's bottom during a live broadcast has been cautioned. Sue Turton was speaking to the camera from Oxford's flood-hit Osney Island when a man was seen on film walking past her on Bridge Street on 27 July. She said she found the incident "quite humiliating" but continued reporting and did not wish to pursue the matter. A police spokeswoman said: "A man has been cautioned under the Public Order Act. There will be no further action." On Tuesday, Ms Turton said in a statement she had "no desire to punish this man through the courts". But she added she found "the matter quite humiliating and somewhat disrespectful to the plight of those I was reporting about". She also pointed out that "male reporters would never be treated to a public goosing". As well as being shown to a national television audience, the incident has been viewed thousands of times on video-sharing website YouTube.

Looks like I'll have to change my sig tomorrow !

I wonder if it's a swap deal ?
-
He was at Old Trafford tonight but didn't play.
-
Does he not get played on the wings a fair bit though? Aye and in "the hole" too, but even so his return looks pretty poor to me for an attacking player.
-
Sounds like a top signing, but when you look at his scoring record its shite.
