Train Defecator Hunted Updated: 17:16, Monday October 23, 2006 Police are searching for a man who has been defecating on trains across the country, causing around £60,000-worth of damage. The offender has struck on at least 30 trains since August, mainly in the South East, smearing excrement inside the carriages. He waits until he is alone in the carriage before committing the offence. His "exceptionally anti-social" actions have even resulted in carriages being taken out of service. British Transport Police warned that his unpleasant habit was creating a risk to public health. The force has released CCTV images of a man officers want to speak to in connection with the investigation. Detective Constable Donna Fox said the man's actions had resulted in "many carriages been taken out of service, causing disruption and cancellations to the train services and serious inconvenience to the travelling public. "This is obviously a serious public health issue as well as being exceptionally anti-social," she said. She added that there was no particular pattern as to when he appears. "He travels to various areas and at different times of the day and different days of the week," she said. "On at least one occasion CCTV footage shows the man being disturbed by a passenger walking through a train. "We are appealing for this man or anyone else who may have witnessed this man committing offences to contact us." She said that anyone who saw the man travelling on the railway network should not approach him, "but call the police or alert train staff immediately". I think every single Newcastle United fan is equally as puzzled as you, the vast majority of fans wanted a top European manager at the helm and were disapointed with the lack of ambition shown by the club in appointing Roeder, most agree Roeder's a decent bloke, but a poor manager. His success last season said more about the desperation of the Souness regimen than anything special Roeder did, Tommy Craig and Alan Shearer were clearly having an input in tactics and inspiration to the playing staff, as soon as that pair left, so did the performances. Hindsight is a wonderful thing, but Roeder should have shuffled back to our academy and left managing Newcastle United to someone who knew what they were doing, but you can't blame Roeder for giving it a go, the person that is ultimately to blame is Freddy Shepherd.

Wednesday against Portsmouth... Be interesting to see the turnout for that one... Poor attendances would hit Shepherd much harder than any protest.
