Carroll's immediate future [whether he's still on the books come Feb] is dependant on our form over the Christmas & New Year period of fixtures, and whether we can establish a healthy buffer between ourselves and drop zone. Ashley's a gambling man, and he'll run the odds if there is some breathing room. For a single financial year 20m+, in addition to the finanancial bonus' accompanied with top-flight survival/retention [especially for a club looking to operate within it's own means, on a skeleton budget] makes for an appealing windfall.

Ashley Young, Kieran Dyer, Jermaine Jenas and Tim Cahill spring to mind. All were stars when making their way through the youth ranks, particularly the later two at international level, and all three at the time of purchase were regarded as being in nation's top echelon of prospects [youth]. And these type of prospects come with a going rate [which Ashley wasn't prepared to cough up re:Keegan's interest in Delph, and our bid was scoffed at by Bates via fax] as opposed to 'bargain basement prospects' like Best. Who is that homo in your avatar btw? ?

The Victoria's Secret Shows...... they've gone off a bit.

Prime example. Natasha Poly is a bit of a honey. -
Just watched this year's instalment. A bit of a disappointment, too much in the way the the Cirque De Soleil antics going on. They'll probably recruit the Oompa Loompas next year. And the lasses carried on like bloody cheerleaders. Good viewing a few years ago, as an annual guilty pleasure. Sometimes simple [with a little less grandios] is better.

It reads as an undercutting massacre for JJB and smaller retailers as well, and they simply can't compete on pricing as they don't have exclusive rights to 'owned brands' being pilfered out of sweat shops [producing a massive profit margin for SD] as a means of offsetting the damage done to the balance sheets. He's been raping club shops [partially depriving them of a revenue stream] across the board, and his immediate competition for nigh on a decade now. West Ham's top brass have been vocal on this front. Umbro, Whelan & Co committed the crime of cartel activity/collusion and were nailed by the FTO, thanks to being stitched by a rogue competitor - in Umbro's case a rogue customer who was devaluing it's product. But at least they [by colluding] were trying to re-establish a sense of parity in the market, something of a level playing field for all parties involved. The same clubs shops that raped us for £40 for a £5 bit of tat under Shepherd. Wasnt that what they said Likewise Mr Ashley is bumfucking you when ordering any of his exclusive brands, where there is no middlemen/intermediatories involved in Ashley's supply line ie. he is acquiring units straight from the sweatshops. The only losers in his pricing/marketing ploy are the clubs. I've always said that Ashley is only interested in taking from football, he is a passenger. Shepherd was only busted saying what is probably on of the minds of just about every club chairman, behind closed doors. They're only maximising a lucrative revenue stream, taking advantage of a consumer trend ie. that compulsion, or the must-have factor when it comes to updated kits. I'd rather have the revenues in the chests of the clubs' coffers [and being appropriated to the clubs' respective budgets], as opposed to them being butchered by cheap & tacky street merchant who only sees the round ball code [club ownership] as an advertising whore, or a marketing extension of his retail chain.

That last comment [their days are numbered] was aimed at the soon to be formality of them being swallowed up the Shit Direct Empire for a relative pittance, once the legal red tape is removed later in the year.

The Town: not far behind 'Heat', as a top Cops vs Robbers flick. 4 out of 5. Splice: 2.5 out of 5. -
He buys failing companies cheap so he can stick their logo on his cheap tat. While this acquisition policy is ingenious, its irrelevant to nufc. ........ and he's no stranger to intentionally & systematically facilitating a company's demise either, by acting as an agent saboteur via his influence in the boardroom/strength of shareholding ie. blocking financial lifelines/rescue packages. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/markets...acks-board.html They've held out bravely for some time now, but it would appear as if Black's days are numbered.

Mission accomplished, unless M.Johnson and Harris similarly rip through our top order, balancing the test in the process. Mad decision by the Aust selectors to go in without a spinner. That deck [the WACA pitch] over five days isn't quite the speedsters' paradise of the 80's and 90's, when the visiting Windies' battery pace attack and Lillee & Thomson used to scare the shit out of opposition top orders.

Me and a mate were saying on Satday we want to go next year for the game against River Plate, wonder if you can fly direct from Heathrow. It's the only continent he's never been to, would be my third. I'm 99.9% sure you can fly direct. You'd think seats would be hard to come by, for that fixture. Might be different if you book now i guess - tour package perhaps.

Don't have to add to what has already been said re:McKeag, but the first & failed flotation really put the strength of the supporter 'boycott' into perspective.

Aye, this ones 9.5 acres, I think. Domed stadia were all the rage in the 70s and into the 80s. Then fell well off. The American Football team that owns this stadium has been whining for a new one for 15 years (the Metrodome was built in 1980.) I'm pissed off that they'll probably get a nice big chunk of public funding for a new stadium based on this incident. Mooted designs.

Memorial Stadium in Oklahoma. Another with stands reaching up to the clouds, with an 80,000 seat capacity.

I'm not the biggest fan of the game itself [it more of a TV sport with it's replay based analysis, than a live viewing one] but i do admire the college football venues. There's a strong emphasis of tradition & history about them, and most have a distinguishing feature/or stand - just like in our code. Kyle Field: open ended stadium, with a monster stand behind one endzone.

You are the loud man in the pub who everyone hates cos he doesn't know what he's on about, aren't you? Fuck me Carroll was awesome imo. Won loads in the air and was all over the pitch. He was laying balls off on the wing and busting a gut to get into the centre to get on the end of the cross. Great strike for the last as well. With respect to the piece placed in bold. Looks a lot like Shearer [99 - 01/02, 02/03], when the said striker had to refine his game as a means of offsetting the effect [he was no longer that big man who could take on a defender, drop his shoulder into and beat a man with a combination of power & quick burst of speed] of previous injures. Carroll's all-round play [at a young age] is a testament to Hughton's ability as a coach. -
http://soccernet.espn.go.com/video?video=c...420&cc=3436 ................. it's below the main media player, with the other videos. Caught his panel commentary on ESPN. Par for the course, and spot-on. As for the current think-tank [Ashley & Llambiarse], and Keegan's take on their handling, or their belated attempts [or to conspire to deliberately mothball a deal, to put it better] in signing his transfer targets. It brings a whole new angle to untenable & detestable, and pretty much fits into Ashley's methodology of conducting his business ie. acting more like a saboteur figure in a boardroom, and having brickwall-like effect on those with progressive intentions.
