In the main, millionaires, but anus' are never far from Gemmill's mind - hense his desire to mention the ringpiece.

1 - 2 I see Rodders wants us to take our scarves to help lift the team. Will you be taking yours? As always, I will be taking my 'hand-knitted' one

I don't know where all this Owen negativity comes from tbh. Personally, I am 100% behind him and I am over the moon he is at our club.

At this time of year there are loads of reports of teams wanting players. A lot of these reports/quotes are sometimes smokescreens to deflect away from players they really want.

He got a bit wound up himself by Collingwood yesterday and was shouting at him as he ran past at one point, and saying something to the umpire, so I assume Collingwood was in his ear. I reckon Collingwood's a bit nails though so I'm not sure you could really get into his head. He might be a mackem, but he's made of sterner stuff than the likes of Bell and Jones. I saw the incident you're talking about. Yes, the two 'had words', but that is an indication of how much Shane Warne gets inside the opposition's (particularly England's) heads. On that occasion, it was Collingwood who felt it necessary to give him verbals - and indication of how much Warne is in the England team's mindset.

On the 'Easy' matter. If one has come to the conclusion that life has nothing to offer anymore - for whatever reason(s) - then to decide on suicide is surely the actions of someone who has lost all rationale. If the decision has been made that suicide is the course of action, then maybe, just maybe, it is easy for the person i.e. that climbing that bridge, or whatever the course of events are, is actually an easy (in their mindset) thing to do as it a means to the end; the end being ulitimate relief from the pain/anguish they are suffering. ????

I think Shane Warne should get an absolute enormous amount of credit for Australia winning this match. Not just for his final day's bowling, but he has been getting inside the England team's head throughout. Bell, Jones and Pietersen to name the obvious ones who were 'getting it' and were visibly affected by it. Warne is just sheer class.

On the telly yesterday one of the commentators said the Aussies call Hoggard 'The Janitor', or something similar as 'he is always cleaning up other people's mistakes.'

Soooooo fuckin predictable.

We do get it. Great innovation imo.

I was wondering if Read would have got to the chance behind that Jones just got the tip of his glove to, down the leg side? Was it Ponting or Hussey?? Anyway, ifs and buts. I think most of us expect a draw, but another England collapse can never be ruled out!!

Unless we have come close to doing it ourselves, I doubt we could ever understand the state of mind of a suicide. One thing's for sure, these Samaritans are people I admire a tremendous amount.

They're at it again tonight. One is Thierry Henry and the know-all (Marcotti - not Leazes ) is Ronaldo. Jings.

hindsight won the FA Cup, and left them in the top 4 in the league and still in europe. whose fault is it the team played so badly on the day ? I wouldn't. It was someone else's decision ie THE BOARD, NOT ONE INDIVIDUAL PERSON. But choosing managers who win trophies, thats what we want. If they couldn't attract managers who were trophy winners ie like the previous board for 30+ years, or other big city clubs that can't for instance ... then I would understand your point and be mega pissed off, as I was for 30 - odd years for that very reason. I didn't, but the club has tried something different, and gave him a chance based on his affinity with the club and the good job he did as a caretaker. You have to understand that. You also have to realise we aren't the only club that has done this. Liverpool have, ManU have, Chelsea have. If it doesn't work, he'll go of course, but the question is, who on here think the club should stick to their "plan"..... and leave him in charge. some did, they said we needed defenders. I disagree and still do. We need a forward/striker, and we need a midfield player who will get into the box. We would not need a striker so much if Martins had stepped straight into the team and scored goals like Cole did. I have said this on many occasions. It was Roeders risk, and a high one. He will pay with his job if we don't improve, fast. I would defend Duff - as I've said all along - there is nothing wrong with paying 5m quid for a player who can play in 2 or 3 forward positions, with the best years of his career to come, and Solano turned 30. I don't expect anyone to realise this could be termed forward planning, or give any credit for it though. I would be surprised if Robson didn't want Rooney. Such a player is possibly the chairmans idea, purely because of the amount of money involved. Bobby Robson would be unlikely to ask his board for 25m quid, but would be pleasantly surprised if he was offered the opportunity. I would be. unfortunately, I think that Shepherds constant comments about how wonderful the club is, and how we have a right to be a huge club, is the type of thing that many members of this board fall for, and repeat. But they don't realise it. not bad. Like it or not though, there aren't many people on here, if anyone, who has seen NUFC more than me...hows that for attention seeking I would prefer you listened though, and saw sense sometimes instead. Was it you that Keith Burkinshaw was referring to when he went to Spurs??? Asked about Newcastle, Burkinshaw said, 'The problem with Newcastle, is they're all experts there.'

Dyer will play, I have phoned my source at the club. I hope he does, so I can ner, ner, ner, ner ner to Gemmill BUT what, more interestingly, is what if Carr is sub and one of our CB's gets injured??? Is Rodders going to chicken out and put Carr straight in and drop Nobby, or will he leave Carr out completely and put Huntington on the bench in case of CB injury???? Hmmmmmmmmm???Rodders can't have a subs line up of Pav, Carr, Rossi and Bert Luque - no way.

From today's Chronicle: You couldn't make it up. Please tell me you are making it up. Or have I been whooshed??

Gash. Clever. Cut or no cut, he should play. He is just as likely to pull his hamstring the day before, the day after, or even pulling his wallet out of his trouser pocket (he doesn't have a man bag) so if he is fit to play, he should play. Reading is another must-win game. Lose it and more pressure comes on the Blackbum game than would be felt if we went there on the back of a win against Reading. If he's got a gash on his leg which still has stitches in, then he's not fit to play, you silly old Whitley Bay mongoloid! He should play regardless, Mr "I take a fortnight off work if I've got the sniffles". Correct. 'Stitches in, so he can't play' It was only a fuckin' scratch to us north tynesiders. PUFF!
