Well to start with Luque was never as good as some make out he was at Deportivo, he's also one of a small bunch of players who you know will never make it in the Premiership from the first few games you see them. Javier Mascherano is another. Interesting that BOTH Real Madrid and Barca went on record to say they wanted to sign Luque, but Depo refused to sell to a Spanish team. Don't let that get in your way of a good Luque slagging though. He's been shite since he arrived here though, which is all I'm arsed about. He hasn't exactly had the best - and most settled - team behind him this season. I thought about the possiblility that we would still have these girls on the streets, but surely the blokes who want to use prostitutes would be more inclined to use the authorised establishments (of all prices - including the lowest price establishments of the drug addicted, less- attractive, type of girl), thus meaning less blokes trawling the streets??

Aye, true. I think the whole notion of prostitution being a crime is absurd. If a person wants to pay for sex with another consenting person, what's the problem? Leglise and tax it. It's difficult what to make of today's play without seeing any of the action. But going by reports on the radio, some of Monty's wickets were off long-hops which must be put down to poor batting rather than good bowling. From what I've heard, Harmison had a really big day. Still, with Aus all out for 244, this points to a result in this game - hopefully a win for England - but the lowish score could point to a dodgy wicket rather than a fanstastic performance by England, so I suppose we had better be prepared for another possible poor score from our batsmen in the first innings. Oh, and is it just me who was thinking (prior to this test starting) that if we had had Panesar in the last test we could have actually won it, let alone draw it, by bowling Australia out on the last day??

Once the myth is exposed that you don't need a season ticket to see a game, and people know they will almost always be able to get tickets, they won't bother going to see less "attractive games" (bizarrely people would rather see us being humped by the likes of ManU). Unless we have a sustained improvement, things will get worse next year and it will hit our already poor financial system even more. There's also the problem of random kick off times and too many televised games - whether its Sky or some dodgy European or Arabic channel. Towards the end of last season, I made the point that I thought season tickets would be down due to the shite entertainment on offer. I can't recall who it was, but they said they knew of plenty people waiting to snap up the unsold season tickets and they would be all sold. Seems I won that argument!!! As you say, this time people will realise that they can get tickets as and when they desire, so season ticket sales will be well below 40,000 next season imo. Aaaaaand, as long as the club is in the Premiership, Portly Freddie wont be caring as the tv cash will be making the tills ring - thus allowing NUFC to manage the debt.

Mrs hips' b/day last Friday, and as part of the day's activities I agreed to take her to The Holiday. Ordinarily, I wouldn't have been the slightest bit interested. One of the fuckin' WORST films I have seen. Dreadful. Nay, DREADFUL. Other than Rachel Weizs (sp) Kate Winslett must be the worst actress in the world. Crap movie. Don't waste your money. You would have more entertainement sitting on the metro for a couple of hours, and for less money.
