Limited overs cricket is schoolboy cricket imo. Nothing more. England may win one test match but I don't see us winning more tbh. There are two hopes of Vaughan playing in a test match: Bob Hope and no fucking hope. To think otherwise is lunacy. One problem England have is the wicket keeper. Geraint Jones is the better batsmen but wickets win matches and he makes too many mistakes imo. If he drops an easy chance with Gilchrist for example on 16, imagine the consequences. Other problems are Flintoff's lack of bowling, Harmison's lack of control and concerns about the batting. All in all, too many problems throughout the team to cause Australia anything more than the odd hiccup.

Took mrs hips to see Borat yesterday. Pretty funny Pity about these fuckin charvas who have to go to the fliks at the same time I do. Oh, how I would love to exterminate them. And I'm not kidding. -
Yep, knowing all about the club is most important, at least far more important than knowing anything about tactics, substitutions and not playing strikers who rather fit into a wheelchair than on a football pitch. I think we are the only major club in world football who from the board to the management subscribe to this moronic, embrassing and patronising belief that being local/knowing what the club is about somehow is more important to success than those things the clubs who actually win things favour. But as long as we have Fat Fred in charge this will never change and we will continue to be a joke. If Roeder thinks a team containing him, Clarkie and Terry Mac is the best for the job then you have to worry! And its about time idiots like Fat Fred realised less and less toon fans are fallign for this shite and have come to join those of us who have always wanted the best manager/coaches and backroom team irrespective of how much they know/love the club and whether they are geordies or not. Agreed. I cannot understand this obsession from Portly Freddie, Anal D'Hohliver and now Rodders that NUFC is some sort of different football club and the manager must have some knowledge of 'it'. The team play football. Football. It is up to the manager to decide the type of football we play. The manager should not need to 'understand' this club to decide on the type football his team play. The only other club that seems to have this pathetic attitude is Spurs, who have this 'the Spurs way' crap talked about whenever things go awry.

Might be the same bloke I know. He's been 'touched' and walks round Whitley Bay / N.Shields. He once saw me and shouted across the road, "How did the court case go?" Still don't know how he knew about that

The Birdie Song, I believe. SLP's planning a snorter of a Christmas party!!!

...we didn't get O'Neill as manager, eh? Mind you, he has only got Villa to where they are now due to spending an absolute fortune on the crap squad they had last year......

Err, no. This is Newcastle United, and if we were indeed fortunate enough to beat Chewsee we would only get knocked out in the next game (semi, is it?) by an inferior team (inferior to Chewsee, of course, as no-one left in the competion is inferior to us - other than Southend perhaps, but even that is debateable atm).

I'm sure hips jnr would debate that with you I can't believe that the amount of studying which he does is the same as was required in times gone by. He never stops and he is quite a bright lad, so the amount he does is not through difficulty to understand what is required. Cool your hips man! What I said isn't the same as saying your son isnt clever! He's clearly very conscienscious! Dees hips iz cooool, mon When I posted that schpeel, I couldn't believe I was defending a fucking student!!!! Remind me to give him a belt when he gets in! btw I wasn't defending his intelligence for one second, I just meant that for all these comments I hear on tv and radio regarding A levels getting easier, I can't recall my sisters (all uber qualified) doing half as much work as my son. I do get the impression though that a lot of what he is required to do is actually down to lazy teachers as since the advent of tinternet, the methods of teaching both he and my daughter heavily involve hours on-line. Studying, I might add, as opposed to looking at porn or MSN.

More like their head in their hands following yet another Brambles howler

He's third in line for a famous hips right hook, behind Jamie Oliver and Ruby Wax. Can't stand the fucker.

Has anyone heard of 'Athlete' ?? Miss hips went to see them and was swapping spit with the lead singer, so I'm informed by my source. I've just looked at some pics on the interweb and he doesn't look clean

Shirley he can't come here on loan as we are still a Premiership club ? i.e. no loans outside the 'window' between Prem clubs. Red nose said for a 'short term loan' anyway - couple of months max?? I have to say Smith is not the type of striker that I think we need now, anyway.

If you could change one thing you wrote on here...

What could possibly be in need of changing in any of my fantabulous posts?? Perish the thought. Ridiculous. Preposterous suggestion. -
I suppose it's the bookies rather than the general public who set the odds, although the betting obviously effects the odds. In any case, I'd take 5th bottom like a shot if I was offered that now. Me too. And no cups anarl.

I wish you would just 'come out' Gemmill. You'll feel so much better. Have a word with Meenze to see the best way to do it. btw there is another thought about Rob taking his dad's pride and joy out and scraping it, but as it's before 9pm I wont go there
-
well I managed to scrape me dad's pride and joy the first time I took it out after passing me test the Boy W demolished a stop sign in broad daylight to such effect that the polis were actually scratching their heads wondering just HOW he'd done so much damage and we won't mention Miss W and a totalled Peugeot 106.....................................

"He needs a rocket up his arse" taken too literally

I would liking to be in agreemement with these thinkings, but I don't really knowing what it is meanings Any excuse to type shite Which reminds me: Two kids caught stealing batteries and fireworks at my local shop yesterday. Police charged one and let the other off!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh, fuck yas I don't hear any better from you lot!! -
I really wish this had come off tyne-talk or somewhere as it is just a load of complete crap. To know that it has actually come from our manager's mouth is just cringeworthy tbh. Shut up, Rodders, and let Terry Mac, er no, Geordie boy Lee Clark, er no, Freddie Shepherd, er no, Christ! is there anyone at that club we can rely on to give a decent interview without embarrassing us?????

Especially to the Lollipop lady that had been holding it at the time!!!!!

I'm witcha bro Been trying to get insurance for Hips jnr today. As he's not 18 yet and it's his first car they (Tesco cheapest) wanted £1700-odd !!!!!!!!!!!!! All up front and no instalments !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sooooooooo, Quinn Direct, I think it is, in Ireland have quoted £1490 with instalments allowed. Still a fucking big wedge, but better than all the rest. Car insurance; stupid, just stupid. Calm down, it's only an advert. Have you SEEN the accident stats? He's guaranteed to bend the car within the first couple of years - with luck he won't get injured but the chances that the insurance people will have to pay out on a 17 yr old are very very high - I'm amazed they insure ANY of them TBH I was sayihg to anyone who would listen (mrs hips - captive audience ) that insureres should have different levels for lads with/without qualifications. Hips jnr, whilst not being academically brilliant, is a steady lad who has A's and B's in his GCSE's and is now doing A-levels. Your average boy-racer is an un-intelligent, burberry cap-wearing ne'er do well who is a far greater risk than my son. Stereo-typing, or a reasoned argument? Thoughts?

What complete and utter bollox. 'I wont be able to come on tomorrow (Friday) as training steps up for the weekend.' Rubbish - training actually is light on a Friday before a game. 'I don't have a digital camera.' If anyone believes this they are off their trolley; one sandwich short of a picnic; the light's on, but there's no-one home; the elevator doesn't go all the way to the top *cough* (I can't think of anymore )
