It was actually really nice once I'd added some croutons. And pumpkin seeds. And grated cheese...

Could actually use a cherry tomato, to be honest...

I'm bored enough on lockdown that I've brought back the conceit where I use a random number generator to choose a cookbook then a recipe from it, which I have to make. (Only once a week, I'm not a maniac.) Three weeks in and it had been going pretty well so far, but then... Yay, a ton of spinach leaves with an occasional mushroom slice!
  4. There's no answer to that that's clearer than what it already says in that tweet.

  6. Aye. I already had the solitary homeworker lifestyle sorted. It worked because I could go out and do things occasionally.
  7. You can queue for a takeaway coffee but you can't go for walk with a friend at two metres' distance and have a chat while you drink it. Spend spend spend but fuck your mental health.
  8. Yeah, it's an interesting thought experiment in a way (if you can get beyond the human aspect and see it with some distance) - how far do you take the "we still have plenty of hospital capacity so we're keeping things relaxed" argument before it becomes inhumane? Or, conversely, do we need the "protect the NHS" message in this country for us to respect the lockdown because we wouldn't be as receptive to "help us to flatten the curve even though we can technically deal with what's happening"?
  9. I think it's quite a common trait wherever you are, unfortunately. Most of the Swedes I know are quick to defend the relaxed Swedish approach the moment it gets any criticism, even though it's liable to lead to pretty bad per capita outcomes, especially in the cities. Fortunately my uncle over there, who's undergoing cancer treatment and thus at risk, is also a healthy cynic and is now safely holed up in his retirement apartment for the duration with several cases of Brown Ale and his collection of NUFC season review videos.
  10. Don't forget to «suck my plums» on your way out.
  11. A destabilised (well, even less stable) North Korea would be just what the world needs right now.
  12. Well, they'll need to make some new telly eventually, why not start with a classic sitcom.
  13. Never fear, our benevolent new owners will be putting on free flights for us all to enjoy the delights of the Costa del Saudi
  14. Ah well,. They're Magpies so I'm sure they'd rather lose 51-49 than win 1-0 anyway.
