Bit of both - I'm here because my fella was still studying here when I moved back to be with him. He's done now, but there's still more opportunities here than elsewhere in the charity sector he's landed in, so it's London for the time being. Neither of us bears any illusion that we'll be here long-term, but as something temporary to make the most of, we're making the most of it rather than being miserable. Trust me, I am too. On the flip side, the music scenes we're into - country/Americana, for one - often see people playing London then buggering off to Ireland for five days before flying back to the States. And for all we may have the likes of Stevenage and Dartford on the doorstep, there's also dirt-cheap flights to every corner of Europe to the extent that you don't get from Newcastle (unless your vision of Europe is limited to a dozen cities tops), so...
