  1. It's coming up to 70 years since they were last in the second tier Not that this proves they can't go down, but I really just don't see it.
  2. Everton never get relegated and if they stick with Rafa I really don't see it. How long have they been in the top flight uninterrupted now? Half a century?
  3. If this is true, I think we can assume that this is the end of things for our plans for world domination. I wonder if they know they can't have both?
  4. I'm starting to wonder if he isn't Steve Wraith wearing a fake beard tbh. Agenda seems identical.
  5. Wait does that mean you temporarily banned Quiff
  6. Might also give the owners a bit of time to settle in with a ready-made excuse for all concerned for the worst happening. I do believe they're going to need time to get up to speed with football, let alone the club itself.
  7. Gutting. At least they tried but frankly, I think we're stuffed. December is going to be brutal.
  8. I really hope this is one of those inexplicable games where we somehow come away with a victory despite literally everything.
  9. Well this is it - we lose or draw this, it's game over IMO. We win, and we live to have our hopes crushed another day.
  10. Has he actually sacked Rayner or something, it sounds as though a storm is brewing there?
  11. She's an MP over in Sunderland somewhere right? She'll have to appeal to local sentiment to some extent I expect.
  12. Ed Miliband on climate change isn't a bad idea either - he's fairly high profile and the issue may still be more about awareness than outcomes.
  13. All I meant to imply is that the way it's phrased almost suggests that they're going to get January out of the way with transfers and so on and then hire someone immediately after - I think it more likely that we'll be looking at a summer program for a wholesale restructure of the club.
  14. If it's true, it would indeed suggest they are indeed.
  15. If true, it'll not be so much 'after January' as 'in the summer'.
  16. Honestly, I think I'm actually more concerned about panic buying a load of shit in January in a bid to stave it off, than I am about relegation. If we get relegated we can continue to develop and build a strong team - I mean it's not like we were going to challenge for Europe next year anyway, we'd be aiming to cement midtable. We go down, flatten the championship but with an eye on the future - go up and the following year aim for top ten with a group of players who are used to winning with each other and as part of a longer running plan. If we hand out a load of 3 or 4 year contracts in January to the sort of dross we would be able to attract in January, we'll be stuck with them for years - something which will be a hinderance to us anyway. I think if we're able to see the championship less as a relegation and more as just part of the process, it would be a healthier mindset for us as a club.
  17. On a related theme, player gets a pat on the back from the referee, goes down like a sack of spuds:
  18. Even if they haven't, if ever there was a club with a chance it's us. We were never going to win this one, let's not overreact. Still though, we're gonna be properly adrift by January.
  19. I'm not sleeping well at the moment so I figured I'd log in to treat myself to some of Clarko's greatest hits to try and send me off
  20. Impervious to any and all reasonable attempts to engage, to the very last. Godspeed Clarko, godspeed.
  21. Screamed the 'very sober' man in the corner. Did I miss something?
