That's what I mean, there is no one size fits all in Pharma. Companies need to also be incentivised to treat or cure rare conditions but need to be reimbursed. Ozempic is an interesting one mind. I've lost as much weight by changing my diet as an average Ozempic user over the same time period in the last 6 months. Not everyone can do that though. Problem is, if you reserve this treatment for the most obese only, it creates a perverse moral hazard where people will deliberately become morbidly obese to qualify for the drug on the NHS. Health economics is full of such quandaries.

I can't see left persuaded people leaving making a difference either way at this point. Easy for me to leave, but if I'm a journalist whose work partly relies on it and I have thousands of followers, the threshold is higher (but increasingly being met).

There is market failure for a lot of new treatments nowadays for various reasons and as such we do need to think out if the box how development companies are reimbursed otherwise there will be no new drugs for those patient groups. We've already seen this with antibiotics and as a result we are pretty close to an "end of medicine" catastrophic situation. No antibiotics, no surgery. Reminds me of a time I gave a lecture arguing that for many conditions the most cost effective treatment was a gun. It was meant as a joke but there is actually some truth in it, it's just the way we assess cost effectiveness. Kill patients you remove all life benefits but also all there healthcare costs. Anyway, the lecture wasn't well received.

Wow. When was the last time we were odds on favourites to beat Spurs away in the league?

I'll bare my arse in Fenwicks window if he is. Now you're all hoping he isn't aren't you? It's typical how this has worked out for him. This was by far the least egregious case against him, was the only one that got to court, and allowed him to play victim and claim conspiracy, thus deflecting the much more serious charges. Nation of idiots.

A small thing maybe but I've just deleted my twitter/x account. I never posted on it but I'd rather have nothing to do with Musk and the more people who delete their accounts and don't buy his shit cars the better.
-
He's supporting the AfD in Germany too isn't he? I mean far fro me to suggest it, but maybe shit stirring like this in a country with a serious problematic past with the far right perhaps isn't a good idea? Whatever his motivations, Musk is human scum incarnate.
-
Aye, but he wasn't a paedo. Are you as confident Jess Phillips isn't a genocidal rapist enabler? She should get legal involved but you know Starmer won't let it happen.
-
And then tipped over his Connect 4 in frustration muttering "Verdammt noch mal mackems!"*. * When I holidayed in Play del Ingles it was incredibly German and every bar had a connect 4 board on each table for some bizarre reason. Mind this was *checks* 30 years ago.

Can she sue him across international boundaries? It really is fucking ridiculous that the richest man in the World is an insomniac narcotic troll.

And aye, leaving the EU to become an "indpendent" nation and get our freedom back, whilst being increasingly dependent on the US, seems like a good move. Europe really needs toget its act together to withstand the insane onslaught of this US insanity and we need to join them ASAP.

"Rape genocide apologist"? Elon should get siogned up to the SMB, he'd fit in well there.

Jesus Christ. Gemmill and his new hobby.

Yes, I am already bored at work.

I hope this is the medicinal kind and not the recreational kind.

I got more disinterested the longer it went on. The final christmas scenes complete with snow in London was the last straw. Forget the preposterous nature of the plot and characters - this hasn't happened in nearly 50 years.

I do derive some pleasure in the fact that Musk is clearly a deeply unhappy drug addled degenerate. He can't sleep so he tweets about and to the only other English speaking country awake a 3 am PST.

Urghh. Back to work. Is this the return to work after Xmas break the worst day of the year? Actually I think I read its the week after, when you're balls deep in January, its cold and dark, you're skint and still have ages until the next pay day, cunts like Musk and Trump and Farage haven't died overnight, and you've probably tea total as well so can't take the edge of it. Going to spend the rest of the day just getting ready for next week proper at work which I'm dreading. At least I don't have to take down my Xmas avatar. Ho ho ho. Ahhh shit, still got the decorations to take down though.

It was great. Especially the last series.
-
BTW, I hope @Rayvin apologises for the bun fight HE caused.
-
Agreed. Shhh though, don't want to give away spoilers.
-
The other aspect of this is if you watch 2 or 3 series simultaneously that is bound to detract from each of them and you will need to get to know 50 to 80 contestants. Not doable for most people, bound to be confusing since the location is the same and the most boring part, the tasks, are similar Someone hasn't thought about this it seems.
-
Fixed again. Chances are Rayvin will have read this thread where S2 is discussed in some depth anyway. Now zip it.
-
Fixed. Look, not knowing the rules of the game does not mean he's not been exposed to the cultural impact, even if he doesn't consciously know it. Most people are quite time limited on what they can watch. That being the case, there are plenty of other things you can do with your time than watch old game shows.
-
I feared this. S1 was basically perfect with the perfect ending. Can't see what S2 can add but will probably watch anyway. Hopefully they'll do another series of the game show. Really enjoyed that too.
