1. Don't forget, we were going to get relegated under Robson. If we can get to 6th place, after spending an extra 40 million of course, then it is a great coup, financially..... Problem is, already, it is going to be incredibly difficult to get that high after such a disastrous start. And looking at our short- and long-term form, is it impossible we get relegated? I have it on great authority from everyone, that relegation is almost literally impossible. Then again, I have pretty much predicted where NUFC would finish up over the last ten seasons. I hope I'm wrong this time.
2. A crippled Bowyer would be better. And would the person calling everyone idiots like to add his explanation as to why Faye ALSO started ahead of the fully fit Clark and N'Zogbia and why a full back played as a winger ahead of said midfielders, i'd love to hear how we're idiots on this one! People don't need to find excuses to get Souness sacked, the facts and everything the fuckwitt does is the reason to want him sacked. He's so bad i don't ever have to make up or exagerate anything to say he should be sacked, merely sticking to the facts is more than enough to have him out in any intelligent persons eyes. 31594 Tut tut. I'm rather tired of your blatent anti-Souness views. It's obvious the guy needs more time. 4pm next Sunday is time enough like.
3. We were talking about this yesterday and there has to be something going wrong with the physio/medical team as no other club seems to have quite as many hamstring injuries as we get. I dunno what they're doing wrong but I think they need to have a serious look at their regimes. 31463 Can't be coincidence. Souness seems to have hired a team of quacks around him, the amount of clueless backroom staff he has is embarassing. Which brings up another problem - it's going to be expensive to sack them all and replace them, which I hope will happen very shortly.
4. I don't want to start a thread for nothing, but, well, this board is pretty quiet anyways.... I missed yesterday because I was having a great break in the South of France. After we signed Owen, I kind of considered spending a small fortune by rebooking my flight home a day earlier, and begging my brother to have my ticket back, but decided against it because I thought I'd just jinx the team anyway. I listened to the results on Sky on Saturday and have to admit I was not surpised by the result, in fact I nearly put a 1-1 bet on the bookies. However, reading the match report in the Sunday Sun this afternoon I must admit we sounded dire. I was looking at the line up and just couldn't understand it: Taylor as right back - what a predictable waste of his talent, Souness will wreck him. Carr in midfield - WTF? Also see above. Faye starting - he should never kick another ball for us. Faye playing in front of Parker - WTF???? I would have Souness killed for this, let alone sacked. Then the predicatable things - too negative (see formation), Boumsong fucks up, Taylor plays badly, we have a player sent off (doesn't seem to be disputed). Oh yes, and we have another hamstring injury. So is that a fair reflection of the match? Because if it is, for God's sake, surely we all agree Souness simply HAS to go NOW. After spending 40 odd million quid, we are still very much relegation contenders. Blackburn is going to be tricky - given we have only won 5 away games in over 2 seasons, we'll be lucky to get a point. Then Man Citeh at home, once an expected win, but no more under Pearce (we haven't won at home since my last holiday - early March I think). One point maximum from them I fear. So realistically, we might, at best, have 4 points from 7 games, or even less. So come on you Souness admirers and supporters - tell me how us deluded skeptics are wrong? Or are there actually any people left who will admit that they think he is still the right man for the job (player's posession/body part obviously excluded due to the fact he is clearly either a wum or an idiot).
5. that'll put his mind at ease 27810 My thoughts entirely! Seriously, I'm relatively medically qualified, but I have to say it is impossible to diagnose on a message board. You're going to have to pluck up the courage and see a doctor - probably your GP. To put your own mind at ease, you need an examination including an ECG. But chances are you are absolutely fine with nothing to worry about - especially if you're young. And in the remote chance you're not, and I stress remote, their will be plenty of things the medical staff can do for you. Either way your on a winner. Book the appointment on Monday.
6. You could only seriously want that if you were Scottish (for various reasons). Umm, when was the last time England scored in the first half? 27740 Half Scottish actually, don't care about England. But the main reason would be he's not managing us!
7. Listening to the radio as I played on the computer, thought I'd come down and watch a famous victory in the last 20 minutes. Bollocks - I'm a jinx. Be thankful I'm not at SJP next week. 27723 Any chance of us arranging a collection to buy you a middlesbrough season ticket. ( i don't think your skills would be needed at the mackems) 27724 Yes, but you're going to have to pay me a LOT.

9. So what happens if he is not on course? What happens, for instance, if we get 1 point from the next two matches? Would you give Souness the year regardless. Nice abuse btw.
10. I was only asking, no need to get on the defensive. I have noticed from experience that usually the people who blame the fans for poor results don't actually go to games. If that's not you, fine. Oh, and I don't hate southerners, I have known and worked with many over the years, most of whom were sound. I hate patronising cockney wankers, like Sewell and Winner. There's a difference. And you have to admit, there are a lot of this ilk in London, which frankly, is a shit hole.
11. Yes, and I bet you don't want anyone of an ethnic persuasion coming and stealing your women either do you!? FWIW, there's a fair few northerners in London....it's called moving. 27460 Divvent try and make him sound racist man. 27462 Well, he is. I'm southern, and he wouldn't want me here based only on that fact. That's entirely what racism is, believing a group of people are all bad and not seeing them as individuals. 27464 So, being Southern, do you actually go to matches, or is this another example of an armchair pundit blaming Newcastle's performance on the matchday fans (like NJM)? An honest question, I'm not interested in one of these pathetic "I'm a better fan than you" threads. Living in Newcastle, I feel very little connection with the South, as illustrated by the program tonight. Give me Edinburgh over London anytime - and it's only an hour away by train. For that matter, give me Leeds, Manchester, Liverpool, or Glasgow over London - all nearer and much more friendly and enjoyable. And no need to put up with patronising cockney wankers. Winner is an odious turd, but you can tell he is just saying shit like that to make the headlines. Sewell is a different matter - I think he generally believes what he says, for instance when he said tonight it would be best for the North to be wiped out by a plague so it could be demolished. I hope the cunt dies an agonising death very soon.
12. Chastised? Some want to string up the SMB 3!
13. Robson can be quite petty when he falls out with someone. And he never admits he is wrong. So I guess he will say it is a backward move, even if, deep down, he might think he made a mistake. A mistake which in my opinion tipped the balance against him and earned him the sack! Btw, is it true Nobby has retired from the international scene?
14. Class! 26430 What tune is that to? 26438 You were an 80's boy shirley? Culture Club. 26442 Well that's just GAY!
15. Class! 26430 What tune is that to?
16. Not like me to be the pessimistic one. 26358 Did Renton and you mix up medications? Will we see Renton posting some upbeat endorsements regarding the manager now? 26362 Even the finest heroin money can buy wouldn't get Renton doing that. 26368 You're right, I'm as happy as Larry (who the hell is Larry anyway) over the signings, but will never support Souness, unless he performs a miracle and becomes a good manager. But I see these signings as giving him more rope. He won't be here much longer, and then we really can get going.
17. This is precisely why I renewed - you never know what's round the corner with this club, and I want to be there when good things happen. Having said that though I gave my Fulham ticket away on Saturday night, and will now miss Owen's first game without recompence.
18. And he truly loves the club, and can sell it, even when we are shit! It's only one aspect of management of course, but team him up with a good coach, like Mike Newell, and we might be on to a winner, I think.
19. Just look at that grin on his face - back wherehe belongs, I say. 26216 woohoo !!! is he going to pick up number 4 ??? or is Nicky Butt still registered with it? 26283 Yep, he's our number 4!
20. Erm no, SBR categorically says in his book he binned Solano basically because he thought he was past it and resented his trips to Peru. He also has a really sly dig about his committment to Villa later on in the book, and imo makes himself sound like a spiteful idiot in the process. As you can tell, I am still far from happy with Robson's actions in the affair, and you know, ultimately it probably cost him his job.
21. I'm not going to give Souness that much credit yet tbh. It doesn't take a genius to work out that Michael Owen is talented, we were all aware of how good Parker was. Souness didn't provide the money, and from what I can tell, it was Shearer that got most the players here. Our results have still been f*****g terrible over the last year - that is what Souness is employed for - to get results. Now he has his team, he has no excuses. If the results don't come (at least to get us back to where we were) then he has to go, simple as that. There is absolutely nothing unfair about it either, I really don't see how anyone can say he has been badly treated. I look forward with interest to Fulham (which unfortunately I'm going to miss).
22. Seems to me we are definitely building a team for Shearer. And you know, it might just work. Shepherd is really rubbing Robson's face in it now though. First of all, giving Souness a fortune to spend, and then getting back Nobby.
23. That would be a very lame excuse. 26037 It's true though. Tbh, you wouldn't compare the Liverpool sides in the 70's and 80's to Chelsea now... or would you? This knowing the defence of the opponents was much worse, with no foreigners playing. 26147 And what? Other teams have improved, so has Newcastle. And we are talking about a period of four years, not several decades. Signing the likes of Luque and Michael Owen and then say that teams like Bolton have become better is utter nonsense in my opinion. The ambition has to be challenging for a CL place . And that's what even Souness himself said yesterday. By this standard has he to be judged now, starting at the game against Fulham. 26154 Hey I wasn't really saying that to argue against your point (sorry, it did look like it), just saying now the top teams will always be improving as they buy new players, and won't be compared to teams of years ago. But yeah this is only a period of 4 years so I stand mistaken. However it's not just the quality of the players that make the difference, it's greatly down to the morale and skills of the management among other things, which could eb partly why Liverpool finsihed below Everton. If the players are not giving 100% or near that (Butt, Robert etc.) or having fights on the pitch it's no surprise the team's results won't be as good. Now with a some world-class players, the most likely excuse for bad results is the manager, and with just a couple of bad results, he'll be looking for work. 26173 I think that's what Isegrim was saying - Souness now has no excuses. How many other managers have been backed to the tune of 45 million in less than a year? This is the difference between us and teams like Bolton - or even Liverpool for that matter. I am over the moon with these signings, though I can't help think it is wasted on Souness. Our next investment must be a good manager - look at the players we have to tempt him with! But its a win win situation really. If we start picking up results (and by this I mean become at least a top 5 team), then that's great. But if we don't, Souness will get sacked and someone else will get us up there, I am confident of that.
24. No chance mate. I voted Celtic, split between them an St Mirren. Saw Hearts at the weekend, believe me, the SPL is way worse than the EPL. If Hearts are the best the division has to offer I pity you!
