  1. You've never played Russian roulette with a wet fart and lost? Amateur.
  2. We've all done it, followed through. But what nobody normal would do is tell the boss they have followed through. ESPECIALLY if that boss is wykiki. This lad needs referring to a head doctor.
  3. Mrs Rents was a freak with food when I first met her. She had a limited number of dishes she would eat, and she would only eat these, absolutely nothing else. This was chips, chips with curry sauce, spaghetti hoops on toast, ripple bars (no other confectionary) and omelette which she had to ask to get made up if she went out. She wouldn't even eat pizza or pasta. She then went inter-railing and was basically forced to eat food like pizza or starve to death. She's still a fussy vegetarian (won't eat anything resembling meat in texture or taste except bizarrely beef crisps) but much better now. C'est la vie. It's a pain but honestly tyhe human body can healthily adapt to mono-diets. The kids, they are another matter. It's not so much they are fussy that gets me, it's just they change what they like on a daily basis. Eat it or starve is the correct response. The not so little shits now. Oh, and ewerk, the lettuce in a burger is for appearance and texture you animal.
  4. This too. So the pensioners don't blow it on their next holiday or Whetherspoons senior specials.
  5. I think the politics was to deliberately highlight it as "the tories have left the country fucked requiring urgent action now" messaging. Also for Reeves to do her iron woman impresion solely to piss off NJS. Whether this was the correct approach or not I don't know, but it will be forgtten about before the next GE when I am sure there will be much bigger things to worry about.
  6. There are some very unfair cut offs involved here certainly, as it's a hard threshold. I remember having a similar issue on stamp duty a few years back which distorted my house value. But if you introduce more subtle methods, such as sliding scales, the bureaocracy involved will negate about 50% of the gains. Maybe they could implement it more simply on whether you're a home owner or not, as being mortgage free is huge, I don't know.
  7. So my understanding is the state pension is rising £400 this year because of the triple lock. If you take WFA away from this, that leaves £150? Which should cover inflation on food etc if the figures are to be believed (accommodation is another issue, affecting many people). If pensioners really are no worse off, then what is the big issue here? I just can't help thinking that in general, the pensioners have done very well from the tory government over the last 15 years, hence why they are the only group who vote tory. Every other demographic has been hit harder, including children. AND there is the matter we know we will not get the same pension provision in our own later years. There's always exceptions and people who fall through the net, and I have genuine sympathies for these people. But honestly I am not sure an untested fixed payment for heating is the correct use of resources.
  8. Turns out Trump was factually correct about dogs being eaten in Springfield, there's a documentary about it.
  9. Whoaah. Apart from being the most over-rated musician of all time, this is a pretty low bar she's cleared at a late stage of the contest. Clooney, De Niro, Spike and most the Hollywood glitteratti Lee have told it likeit is for quite a while.
  10. Hopefully this will make a difference though.
  11. I tend to keep the radio on at a low level of ambient noise as I drift off to sleep at night. Last night I woke, or thought I woke, at around 2 am and they were playing this debate, at this point. Waking up this morning I wasn't sure if I had dreamt this or not, Trump claiming that IMMUGRANTS ARE EATING OUR PETZ! Yeah, turns out he did say it, and he is becoming favourite to be the next president again. Nice one America. https://news.sky.com/video/donald-trump-illegal-immigrants-are-eating-pets-in-springfield-13212686
  12. Or, you'd sell the first as "reconditioned" and keep the second one. Be careful buying items from Gemmill gents.
  13. Newsagents on it today. I try not to think about it. I mean, we had Johnson, but the system and people in this country ultimately worked and turfed him out on his arse. Trump though? I just cannot get my head round why anyone would vote for that putrid mess, even before considering the threat to democracy, no, the end of democracy, he represents.
  14. It's not all plain sailing for him.
  15. The surrounding Spanish crowd cheering and applauding, doing Mexican waves and patting T-bone enthusiastically on the back "Nosotros tambien odiamos mags amigos, quiero decir, marra".
  16. And, as I was searching for the mackem logic gif on my phone, a reminder of genius Keith came up.
  17. Why? I liked it, been twice, both times to the same great hotel mind which helped. Loads of places to go in Andalusia too. Places like Ronda, Malaga, Gibraltar, Granada, Sierra Nevada within easy reach, pretty much guaranteed sun.
  18. Thread about Nerja, a place I like and am thinking about going next year. Doesn't take long. Why aye.
  19. This. Ffs, nobody looks top closely into how the sausage is made, or we'd all be vegetarian. The answer is that both meat and vegan sausage tolls are minging. And a lot of vegan food is surprisingly highly processed and as bad if not worse than it's meat counterpart. I can happily eat vegetarian food, if its the stuff which is actually made of vegetables. The stuff made out of saw shavings, not so much.
  20. For context, this is about (I think) about the GK Claudia Moan's move from Sunderland Women's team to Newcastle. Always a good excuse to have a rant about Saudi Arabia and women's rights there. Can anyone spot anything patronising or maybe outright mysogynistic in the responses?
  21. Well, got the rejection call. Feedback was that I was very close, I had the best written application, they thought the presentation was excellent, but I missed the mark on three questions and there was a better candidate on the day answering these. They recognise my lack of preparation was a major handicap and they recommend I keep on applying. Personally think its daft to choose someone on the basis of 3 questions over accumulated experience over 20 years, but there you go. Oh, they didn't like the lesbian strap-on response, so if I ever post about an up coming interview, please, please remind me not to use this again. 👍
