  1. Hate the fuckers. I've never been stung and as a result I think I'm irrationally terrified of them. Not too bad for wasps here though, West coast of Scotland is worst place for them I have been to. Beautiful landscape, superlative walking, terrible weather, midges, and fucking wasps.
  2. Quite a stunning statistic. Maybe the manager isn't the problem, maybe it's something closer to home.
  3. Had on, have these knackers actually sacked Beale already?
  4. Zero, since I left 3 years ago and never pushed a trolley. Place has gone to shit since I left mind, good luck.
  5. It's funny. When I was ill last year in hospital for 2 weeks, no questions asked here. Take as long as you want for your Dad etc. At the Freeman working for the NHS, you got hauled before HR and most likely a disciplinary if you had more than 3 episodes of illness in a 2 year period. Didn't matter if it was a 1/2 day or 3 months off. My colleague had serious heart problems, needed an operation in the actual Freeman hospital itself ffs, and got a disciplinary! If you had a chronic condition like Migraine, you were fucked there. Fostered a feeling of hatred towards HR and personally I'm nor surprised the latest CQC grading has been bad. Or then there was the time I had to go in daily for an office job when there was no need during peak pandemic. I know some clinical staff who couldn't be used who did the same. 8 hours a day, sitting in a chair, doing nowt, going stir crazy. My brother now has to commute to Leeds twice weekly now to meet - nobody. If you don't like it, leave, they say. Point I'm making is I guess people wrongly think the public sector is great for your working rights. It's not. Make sure you get a union rep is my advice.
  6. Aye, when I've been to the carribean, it's been common for young Americans to rock up to the hotel and stay 3 nights before flying back. I know it's closer for them but fuck that, barely get unpacked.
  7. TBF every job I've had has been like that, at least unofficially, if you have a decent line manager. Aren't they called "personal days" in the US? What I would be wary of is how much you can use it. Think in the states you get about 5 a year and they count as your a/l which is often a total of 10 days a year. No way could I hack that.
  8. Watched the first episode of "One day" on Netflix yesterday. Set in Edinburgh University in 1988, high IMDb ratings, and loads of recommendations from people I like, should be right up my street. What a load of shite. More boring than "Normal people". For a TV programme I assume is supposed to be about the chemistry of the protagonists, it was as explosive as a dry fart. I'll give it one more chance to redeem itself tonight. On another note, highly enjoyed Fargo S5. That Keeley lass from Ted Lasso stars, she's great. Fargo has a strange habit of employing British actors in lead roles despite being American. This series is like a combination of the original Fargo, No Country for Old Men, and Kill Bill. Excellent.
  9. A lot of companies here are merging or being bought out by American firms or private equity and importing their fucking disgusting working rights practices here. We'll see how this pans out, in my industry the best people will simply move to a UK or European based job.
  10. When I had a wasps nest I paid the council to take care of it. £30 iirc. Mind that was I. 2006 so probably £3392 now.
  11. There's more than one of you? Slightly scary prospect.
  12. ManU scored after 25 seconds. That's my football done for the weekend.
  13. A new Gemmill low this. I think it was the same bloke who had "Sunderland 'til I die" tattooed on his arm in series 1, genuinely seemed canny. Tempting fate a bit with that tat though....
  14. I'm guessing you don't, you just use opinion polls for the Scottish and NI votes. It's just a bit of fun.
  15. On the other hand, who cares? Does Holden come across credible here? No, he comes across as a lying cunt. And a boring one to boot. He's not convivning anyone with this ridiculous non-response. The man is only there because his opponent was Pidcock. He's out on his arse this year and into obscurity. Also, it shows just how low the tory party have fallen in terms of quality this prick can become chairman. They're fucked man.
  16. Don't think it's impossible a leadership bid could force his hand into an early GE. I doubt he would lose a VoNC but it massively damages his credibility anyway. In normal circumstances. Which we're clearly not in. I've been saying since Truss, the tories will be annihilated next GE imo. You can see why Starmer is being ultra-cautious, the amount of shit the tories and client media (including BBC) are flinging at him. I expect he will produce a good manifesto though, which will add to Labour's position. I think we are looking at worse than '97 for the tories, possibly reduced to double figures. The best bit is, as you allude to, the ones that will survive the purge are the fruit cakes. So they'll have to choose a fruitcake as their shadow leader. It could be Badenoch, it could even be Truss again. I think their best bet would be Mordaunt, but I'm not sure she'll survive and she is too woke for the headbangers.
  17. Good old Dunty certainly has a way with words. OGWN is not the same without him.
  18. He's a bona fide moron if he thinks he can extrapolate the voting patterns of these country bumpkins nationally. Meanwhile, yes please.

  20. According to Mogg, Kingsbury was a bad day for Labour as they didn't get 50%. I can't wait to see this cunt walk the distance.
  21. They're upset by this lady nailing it.
